Summary: In this study, it was found that HBXIP promotes tumor cell migration and invasion by directly interacting with and phosphorylating NMHC-IIA. Furthermore, the anti-hyperlipidemic drug BZF inhibits breast cancer metastasis by suppressing PKCAII-mediated NMHC-IIA phosphorylation. These findings provide new insights into the regulatory mechanism of tumor metastasis and the development of anti-metastatic drugs for breast cancer.

Summary: Chen et al. discovered that the IRE1 alpha endoplasmic reticulum stress sensor inhibits beige adipocyte activation in white and beige adipocytes by regulating lipolysis and Pgc1 alpha messenger RNA levels. The research shows the therapeutic potential of blocking IRE1 alpha in unlocking adipocytes' thermogenic capacity to combat obesity and metabolic disorders.

Summary: This study reveals the crucial role of nonmuscle myosin IIA (MYH9) in regulating influenza A virus (IAV) infection and replication. MYH9 can interact with the viral nucleoprotein (NP) and interrupt the formation of viral ribonucleoprotein (vRNP) complexes, leading to a suppression of viral RNA transcription and replication. These findings shed new light on the complicated interactions between IAV and its host, making MYH9 a potential target for antiviral drug development.

Summary: This study reveals that the IRE1 alpha/XBP1 branch of the unfolded protein response is disrupted in spinal muscular atrophy (SMA), with a depletion of XBP1s contributing to SMA pathogenesis. Rebalancing XBP1s expression can induce SMN expression and protect spinal motor neurons in severe SMA-like mice.

Summary: The upregulation of calcium channel TRPV6 is associated with poor prognosis in breast cancer by promoting invasion and metastasis, making it a potential target for therapy. TRPV6 expression is increased in metastatic breast cancers, accelerating primary breast cancer cell migration. Mechanistically, TRPV6 activates NFATC2 through NFATC2IP phosphorylation, leading to increased breast cancer metastasis via upregulation of ADAMTS6 expression.

Summary: KIAA1217 plays a crucial role in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) metastasis by promoting cell migration and invasion through inducing epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT), and activating JAK1/2 and STAT3. It interacts with the Notch and Wnt/β-catenin pathways to facilitate HCC metastasis.

Summary: This study reveals that EZH2 promotes the formation of CCF and activates the cGAS-STING pathway to enhance breast cancer metastasis. The EZH2-HMGA1-USP7 complex is involved in the regulation of CCF formation. EZH2 can activate cGAS through CCF, requiring the deubiquitination activity of USP7. Targeting the EZH2-CCF-cGAS axis may be a potential therapeutic strategy for inhibiting breast cancer metastasis.

Summary: The MYH9 gene is commonly upregulated in clear cell renal cell carcinoma (ccRCC) and its overexpression predicts poor prognosis. Knockdown of MYH9 inhibits the proliferative and metastatic potentials of ccRCC cells, while overexpression enhances these properties. Furthermore, MYH9 plays vital roles through the AKT signaling pathway and determines the response of ccRCC cells to sunitinib treatment.
