The impact of electroweak Sudakov logarithms on the endpoint of the photon spectrum for wino dark matter annihilation was studied intensively over the last several years. In this work, we extend these results to Higgsino dark matter chi(0)(1). We achieve NLL ' resummation accuracy for narrow and intermediate spectral energy resolutions, of order mW2/m chi and m(W), respectively. This is the most accurate prediction to date for the yield of high-energy gamma-rays from chi(0)(1)chi(0)(1)-> gamma + X annihilation for the energy resolutions realized by current and next-generation telescopes. We also discuss for the first time the effect of power corrections in m(W)/m(chi) in this context and argue why they are not sizeable.

Sommerfeld-corrected relic abundance of wino dark matter with NLO electroweak potentials

Martin Beneke, Robert Szafron, Kai Urban

Summary: Extending from previous work, this study calculates the electroweak potentials for all co-annihilation channels of wino dark matter at the one-loop order, and obtains the wino relic abundance including the Sommerfeld effect at the next-to-leading order (NLO).

NLO electroweak potentials for minimal dark matter and beyond

Kai Urban

Summary: The calculation of one-loop correction to the static potential focuses on the impact of gamma, W and Z-exchange at tree-level for arbitrary heavy standard model multiplets. The result shows a Casimir-like scaling behavior, indicating that the NLO correction can be viewed as a low-energy property of the electroweak gauge bosons. Furthermore, the phenomenology of the NLO potentials, analytically known asymptotic limits, and fitting functions in position space are discussed for practical applications.

Matching resummed endpoint and continuum γ-ray spectra from dark-matter annihilation

M. Beneke, K. Urban, M. Vollmann

Summary: In this study, accurate energy spectra of high-energy photons from TeV scale dark-matter annihilation in the minimal wino and Higgsino benchmark models are provided. By merging electroweak Sudakov resummation and electroweak parton-shower, and considering the Sommerfeld effect, it is found that electroweak resummation significantly changes the shape of the photon-energy spectrum and the form of the line-signal.

Sommerfeld enhancement of resonant dark matter annihilation

M. Beneke, S. Lederer, K. Urban

Summary: The dark matter annihilation cross section can be greatly increased if the annihilation occurs into a narrow resonance or if the dark-matter particles experience a long-range force before annihilation (Sommerfeld effect). We demonstrate that when both enhancements are present, they completely factorize, meaning that all long-distance non-factorizable effects cancel at the leading order. We then investigate the feasibility of super-resonant annihilation in Standard Model Higgs portal and simplified MSSM-inspired dark-matter scenarios.
