Summary: EOC patients have low response rates to immunotherapies, but evidence suggests ovarian tumors are immunogenic and immune-related genomic profiles can serve as prognostic markers. Specific research areas that need to be addressed include developing immune-based prognostic signatures and driving advancements in this field.

Summary: Research indicates that physical activity levels before diagnosis of ovarian cancer do not have a significant impact on ovarian cancer-specific mortality. However, engaging in physical activity 1-4 years after diagnosis is associated with improved prognosis for patients with ovarian cancer.

Summary: Pre-Olympic predictions often include an increase in population-based physical activity, while the post-Olympic effects on physical activity remain largely unsummarized. Most pre-Olympic documents set targets for population physical activity or sports participation; however, analysis of surveillance data shows little change in physical activity prevalence in most cases. Google Trends data demonstrates a sharp increase in searches related to the Olympics during the event, and sustained growth in searches related to exercise throughout the Olympic period.

Summary: This study conducted a systematic review and meta-analyses to examine the associations between physical activity and breast cancer prognosis. The results showed that moderate physical activity was associated with lower all-cause and breast cancer-specific mortality, but had no significant effect on breast cancer recurrence. Furthermore, the study found that the benefits of physical activity plateaued after reaching a certain level.

Summary: Based on systematic reviews and meta-analyses, this study found a strong association between postdiagnosis body fatness and higher all-cause mortality, breast cancer-specific mortality, and second primary breast cancer. Limited evidence suggests a relationship between body fatness and breast cancer recurrence and nonbreast cancer-related mortality. Limited-suggestive evidence indicates a lower risk of all-cause mortality and breast cancer-specific mortality with recreational physical activity. Data on dietary factors is limited. The study emphasizes the importance of lifestyle recommendations to avoid obesity and engage in physical activity for breast cancer patients.

Summary: This review summarizes the relationship between physical activity, sedentary behavior, and cancer survival and other health outcomes in cancer survivors. Physical activity and reducing sedentary behavior can lower the risk of developing cancer and improve outcomes for cancer survivors. Further research is needed to strengthen the evidence and provide more information on other types of cancer.

Summary: The study aimed to evaluate the feasibility and safety of cytoreduction in patients with advanced ovarian cancer and hepato-biliary metastasis. Results showed that 20.9% of patients had liver, biliary tract, or porta hepatis metastasis, with 71.6% achieving complete cytoreduction. Severe complications related to hepatobiliary surgery were reported in 2.9% of patients, but complete cytoreduction was associated with survival benefits.

Summary: Physical activity is associated with longer survival among non-metastasized colorectal cancer patients. This study aimed to investigate whether physical activity is also beneficial for survival among patients with metastatic colorectal cancer (mCRC). The study found that higher levels of physical activity at the time of mCRC diagnosis were associated with longer overall survival. Adherence to physical activity guidelines for cancer survivors was also related to prolonged survival. Future research is needed to examine whether improving exercise levels after the diagnosis of metastasis is beneficial and determine the most effective exercise interventions for improving survival time in mCRC patients.

Summary: This study analyzed the relationship between cigarette smoking, alcohol consumption, and head and neck cancer risk factors in less developed and more developed countries. The results showed that the duration of smoking and alcohol consumption had different effects on the risk of specific cancer sites depending on the country's level of development. These findings suggest that the degree of industrialization and economic development affects the relationship between smoking, alcohol, and head and neck cancer.

Summary: This study compared the outcomes of laparoscopic liver resections (LLRs) and open liver resections (OLRs) for Gallbladder cancer (GBC) and Intrahepatic Cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) in a high-volume center. The results showed that LLR had less blood loss and shorter length of stay compared to OLR. There were no significant differences in post-operative complications, negative margin rates, completeness of lymphadenectomy rates, and 3-year overall and disease-free survival between LLR and OLR.

Summary: Bio-and GenomeBank, Denmark (RBGB) is a national infrastructure that includes the Danish CancerBiobank (DCB). This study aimed to assess the collected biological material in DCB for patients with primary ovarian cancer registered in The Danish Gynecologic Cancer Database (DGCD) and investigate the concordance between predicted organ of disease and final diagnosis. Data from DGCD and DCB were extracted. 62% of the patients with primary ovarian cancer (1347 out of 2172) had biological materials stored in DCB. The median age of patients with biological material in DCB was 67 years, while it was 69 years for patients without biological material (p = 0.0001).

Summary: In this study, next generation sequencing (NGS) analysis was implemented in routine diagnostic work-up for B-cell non-Hodgkin's lymphoma (B-NHL). Mutations were detected in 94% of samples, and 50% of unclassified cases could be assigned a likely diagnostic subtype based on mutational findings. This gene sequencing approach provides potential diagnostic, prognostic, and predictive value for classification and risk-stratification of B-NHL.

Summary: Pancreatic cancer is a devastating disease with a low survival rate. Patient-derived 3D cultures have shown promise for personalized treatment, but most models do not include supportive tissue cells. In this study, a co-culture model was created using cells from endoscopic biopsies, showing interaction between tumor and stromal cells. The study also highlights the need to include cancer-associated fibroblasts (CAFs) in models, as CAFs impact treatment response.
