The H-1 and O-17 relaxometric behaviour in aqueous solution of GdF3 nanoparticles (<5 nm) coated with citrate molecules (Gd-NPs) was investigated as a function of magnetic field strength and temperature in order to unravel the mechanisms underlying their magnetic interaction with water molecules.
