Summary: This study investigated the microbiota assembly and its relationship with secondary metabolite accumulation in Schisandraceae plants. The results showed that these plants had similar and unique endophytic microbial communities compared to soil microorganisms. Functions associated with metabolic processing were found to be related to the host. Additionally, the accumulation of secondary metabolites was closely related to the endophytic community composition.

Summary: This study found that the application of a seaweed extract and endophytic actinobacterial isolates can significantly improve the growth performance and endogenous hormonal levels of mangroves. Specific actinobacterial isolates showed good bioactivity under greenhouse and open-field nursery conditions, positively affecting plant growth. The combination of actinobacteria and seaweed extract had a better effect, increasing dry biomass accumulation and nutrient content in plants.

Summary: This study isolated 242 strains of endophytic Sordariomycetes from Rosa roxburghii, evaluated their diversity and antimicrobial activities. Results showed a decrease in fungal community diversity from root to seed, and some fungi were found to have multitrophic lifestyles combining endophytic, pathogenic, and saprophytic behavior. The study also demonstrated the potential of these isolates as sources for exploring antimicrobial agents.

Summary: Marine fungi, especially endophytic species, are rich sources of structurally diverse bioactive compounds. This study identified eight fungal taxa associated with Halopteris scoparia, some of which showed promising bioactivities for dermocosmetic applications. Chemical analysis revealed the presence of echinulin and neoechinulin A in an Aspergillus chevalieri extract, explaining its high antioxidant and UV photoprotective capacities. Further efforts in understanding the ecology of halo/osmotolerant fungi are essential for exploring their potential bioactivities.

Summary: The endophytic fungus GG22 from Rehmannia glutinosa leaves was found to promote the growth and enhance the secondary metabolism of R. glutinosa. GG22 infection increased the activities of antioxidant enzymes, as well as the accumulation of NO and H2O2 signaling molecules. Additionally, the expression of enzyme genes related to secondary metabolites significantly increased after GG22 infection.
