Summary: Yellow seed coat in rapeseed is a desirable trait and understanding the genetic mechanism behind it can improve the quality of this oilseed crop. Through transcriptome profiling, differentially expressed genes related to seed development were identified and enriched in processes like carbohydrate and lipid metabolism, photosynthesis, and embryo development. Furthermore, candidate genes involved in seed coat color were discovered and 25 transcription factors were identified to potentially regulate the synthesis of flavonoids and phenylpropanoids, thus influencing seed color formation. These findings provide valuable insights into candidate gene function in seed development and lay the foundation for further research on the yellow-seeded trait in rapeseed.

The PRSS8 gene plays a role in cellular energy metabolism and thermogenesis. These findings provide valuable insights into the molecular mechanisms underlying cold adaptation in pigs.

Summary: This study characterized the changes in proanthocyanidins biosynthesis components and transcripts in brown cotton fiber (BCF) variety Zong 1-61 at different stages of fiber development. The results revealed that flavonoid biosynthesis, phenylpropanoid metabolisms, and carbohydrate metabolisms dominated gene expression at 15 or 20 DPA. 63 genes, including three core genes, were identified as potentially related to flavonoid biosynthesis. Yeast one-hybrid assays confirmed the regulation of GhANS, GhANR1, and GhUFGT2 by GhMYB46, GhMYB6, and GhMYB3, respectively.
