Summary: This study presents the syntheses and characterizations of three novel hetero-multimetallic dinitrogen complexes, which have the potential to induce polarization in nonpolar N-2 gas. Summary: The synthesis of a zirconium complex supported by a flexible amidophosphinosulfide ligand is reported. This complex proved to be an efficient catalyst in the hydroboration of organic nitriles, alkynes, and carboxylic esters under neat reaction conditions. The catalytic reaction shows excellent functional group tolerance and a wide substrate scope.

Summary: A bulky tridentate bis(3-methyl-5-arylhydroxyphenyl)phenylphosphine ligand 1 was synthesized and reacted with TiCl3(THF)3 to obtain bis{Tipp[O, P, O] titanium(THF)0.59(Et2O)0.41(mu-chloro)} 2. Reduction of 2 with KC8 in toluene or C6D6 yielded two arene-bridged dititanium complexes {Tipp[O, P, O]}2 titanium (mu-eta 6:eta 6-C6H5Me) 3 and {Tipp[O, P, O]}2 titanium (THF)0.58(Et2O)0.42(mu-eta 6:eta 6-C6D6) 4, respectively. The structures of complexes 3 and 4 featured an inverted sandwich-type structure with distorted aromatic rings. Density functional theory calculations provided insights into the loss of aromaticity in the distorted aromatic rings.

Summary: The highly efficient and selective cationic polymerization of isoprene was achieved using a synergistic Tf2NH-ionic liquid (IL) catalytic system, leading to low-molecular-weight polyisoprenes with excellent yields, double bond content, and trans-1,4 selectivities. The IL cation effectively suppressed double bond reprotonation in polymer chains by reducing electron density, resulting in highly linear desired polymers, with potential for industrial application and recycling processes.

Summary: In this study, a series of tridentate imidazo[1,5-alquinolin-9-olate-1-ylidene (IZOQ) palladium catalysts with dimethylaminoethyl were synthesized and showed high catalytic activity and thermal stability in the homo- and copolymerization of norbornene with polar monomers. The rigid annulated backbone significantly enhanced the activities of these complexes, while electron-withdrawing groups at the annulated backbone positively affected the (co)polymerization activity.

It was found that catalysts with alkyl substituents displayed higher activity and formed high-molecular weight polymers with narrower dispersity compared to those with halide substituents in ethylene polymerization reactions.

Summary: This study presents ten examples of nickel(II) halide complexes, each incorporating a sterically encumbered N,N-chelating ligand. The preparation of these complexes and the zinc-mediated synthesis of precursor ligands are discussed in detail. It is found that catalysts with a 6-alkyl substituent demonstrated higher activity than those with a 6-halide substituent, resulting in higher-molecular weight polymers with a narrow dispersity.

The monohalide derivatives demonstrate considerable structural diversity as the nature of the amidinate-supporting ligand is changed. Furthermore, slurry-phase ethylene polymerization studies using the complexes provide a direct comparison to the highly active Pn*Zr(CpR)Cl catalyst family.

Summary: A new TADDOL-based Ti(IV) complex was synthesized and studied for its ethylene polymerization behavior, producing ultra-high molecular weight linear polyethylene and high molecular weight copolymers with alpha-olefins. The complex exhibited high activities and incorporation rates, and the copolymers obtained were analyzed to be statistical in nature. Influential reaction parameters were examined, leading to the possibility of forming both statistical and block copolymers.
