Summary: The chiral building block (R)-(+)-2,2 '-diamino-1,1 '-binaphthyl, (R)-BINAM, was converted to N-substituted proligands and alkaline earth metal catalysts. Quadrant models analysis showed that ligands with specific substituents provided the best steric discrimination in enantioselective intramolecular alkene hydroamination reactions.

Summary: Metalation of N-(2,6-dibenzhydryl-4-tolyl)adamantane-1-carboxamide with M(NMe2)4 (M = Ti, Zr, Hf) affords amidate complexes 2 as well as bis(amidate) compounds 3 and 4. In compound 2, the amidate ligand acts as a monodentate base via the oxygen atom with the Ti center. Compounds 3 and 4 contain two bidentate amidate ligands, resulting in hexacoordinate group IV metal atoms.

Summary: This study presents a novel method for the synthesis of high-value amides through NiH-catalyzed anti-Markovnikov intermolecular hydroamidation of unactivated alkenes. The protocol allows for the direct synthesis of structurally diverse N-alkyl amides using abundant carboxylic acid feedstocks and has shown success with both unactivated alkenes and natural products. Mechanistic studies suggest that the observed regioselectivities are controlled by the sterical environment of the coupling reaction.

Summary: This study discusses the recent progress in Ti-catalyzed oxidative amination reactions, highlighting the importance of understanding the reactive species and mechanisms involved. The research shows that low-valent Ti intermediates can be stabilized through coordination and that reductive elimination processes occur through pi-type electrocyclic reactions. These findings are crucial for advancing catalytic applications involving titanium.

Summary: The tetradentate N2S2 Schiff base ligands show versatile chelating behavior for copper and stabilize high oxidation states. The Ni coordination chemistry of these ligands leads to a variety of products, including dinuclear Ni-II complexes derived from radical homocoupling reactions. These complexes are redox active and exhibit new electronic transitions in spectroelectrochemistry.

Summary: This communication presents the synthesis of new bis-oxazoline chiral ligands (SPIROX) from the C2-symmetric spirocyclic scaffold (SPIROL). Key diacid intermediate (R,R,R)-7 was obtained in a three-step sequence and subsequently coupled with (R)- and (S)-phenylglycinols to form diastereomeric SPIROX ligands. These ligands, when complexed with CuCl and Cu(OTf)(2), acted as active catalysts promoting an asymmetric reaction resulting in high yield and selectivity.

Summary: The synthesis and characterization of bis(indenyl)-tetrelocenophanes of germanium(II), tin(II), and lead(II), which belong to the bis(indenyl)metallocenophane-type species of p-block elements, are reported. The structural characterization of these species in the solid state reveals some unusual features, including a dispersion dimer and an arene complex.

Summary: Enantioenriched N-alkyl-imidazole-substituted pyridine dicarbene iron dialkyl complexes have been synthesized and characterized, showing a modest enantioselectivity in catalytic asymmetric hydrogenation reactions. Lowering the H-2 pressure increased the enantioselectivity, and further studies identified key reactions pathways and competitive reactions in the catalytic process. Monitoring the reaction by NMR spectroscopy provided insights into the catalytic mechanism.

Summary: ADC and HT are powerful tools in the multicomponent formation of N-heterocycles, starting from simple and commercially available reagents. Base metal-catalyzed strategies, using manganese, iron, cobalt, nickel, and copper catalysts, have become increasingly important in recent years. These strategies are highly atom-efficient and environmentally friendly, with no need for further reducing or oxidizing agents.

Summary: This article provides an overview of existing and emerging olefin production technologies, comparing them based on carbon intensity, efficiency, feedstock type, and availability. The study compares the technical and economic maturity of six principal olefin production routes and explores potential alternatives such as biomass, recycled plastic, carbon capture and storage, and carbon capture and utilization technologies. The findings suggest that adopting biomass-based green feedstock and recycled plastic-based olefins can reduce carbon footprint, while using best available technologies and introducing electrocracking in the fossil-based process can yield the highest impact. The adoption of Power-to-X approaches can eventually lead to carbon-neutral blue olefins, but further development and regulatory incentives are needed for economic viability.
