Summary: In this study, lithium phosphorus-oxynitride (LiPON) films with homogeneous microstructure and high ionic conductivity were successfully deposited by anodic evaporation in a low-pressure arc. It was found that the degree of vapor dissociation critically affects the morphology of the films and their ionic conductivity.

Summary: The electronic structure and optical properties of SiOxNy:H films enriched with silicon obtained by plasma-enhanced chemical deposition are studied. It is found that the film composition can be effectively varied by changing the gas flow ratio and plasma generator power. Additionally, the p+-Si/SiOxNy:H/Ni structures exhibit properties of memristor bipolar type.

Summary: Thin films of solid-state lithium-ion electrolytes show promise for use in small-sized autonomous power sources for micro- and nanoelectronic elements. The high rate of vacuum-plasma synthesis of lithium phosphor-oxynitride (LiPON) films is achieved through anodic evaporation of Li3PO4. The microstructure and ionic conductivity of LiPON films are influenced by the proportion of free lithium in the vapor flow.

Summary: In this work, bottom-up Al-Si-Al nanowire heterostructures are presented, which show promising potential for top-down fabricated nanosheet and multi-wire reconfigurable field-effect transistors. The transistors exhibit high symmetry in the key parameters of on- and off-currents and threshold voltages for n- and p-type operation, and also achieve low device-to-device variability. The investigated Al-Si material system is relevant for reconfigurable logic cells obtained from Si nanosheets. The Al-Si-Al platform has substantial potential for complex adaptive and self-learning circuits, energy efficient computing, small footprint, and hardware security circuits.

Summary: The existence of stoichiometric variations at the nanoscale when growing nanocolumnar SiOx thin films by reactive magnetron sputtering deposition at oblique angles is demonstrated. Results show stoichiometric variations in the range 0.3 < x < 1.3 when growing a SiO0.5 thin film. The preferential incorporation of sputtered species at a particular side of the nanocolumns due to different momentum distribution of the gaseous reactive and sputtered species is discussed.

Summary: This study focuses on the analysis of different types of branched and modulated pores in PAA templates, discussing newly developed methodologies and the morphological evolution of each type. The proposed anodizing strategies help reduce anodizing time and result in smaller pore sizes, making them effectively implemented for separation science technology. In addition, the study explores the potential applications of using PAA templates on special substrates, such as Si, for various technological applications.

Summary: This study investigates the viability of ferroelectric Al1-xBxN as a large bandgap nonlinear optical material for ultraviolet light generation. An enhancement in the nonlinear coefficients is observed with increasing B concentration, along with a change in bandgap. A periodically poled, quasi-phase-matched ferroelectric domain pattern is demonstrated.
