Summary: A label-free-based fiber optic biosensor based on etched tilted Bragg fiber grating (TFBG) is proposed and practically demonstrated. The hybridization of probe DNA with the complementary DNA (cDNA) has been monitored using wavelength-dependent interrogation. The reproducibility of the probes has been demonstrated and the response towards non-cDNA has also been investigated to establish its specificity.

Summary: Immobilization of DNA-modifying enzymes on surfaces is a complex task in biotechnology and biosensorics. This study focuses on the real-time monitoring of T7 DNA polymerase immobilization and its analytical signals using Quartz crystal micro-balance (QCM). The research evaluates the covalent attachment of T7 DNA polymerase to self-assembled monolayers and proposes a strategy based on protecting the exonuclease active site. The findings suggest the detection of low concentrations of target DNA molecules and efficient reuse of expensive DNA enzymes.

Summary: This study reports a label-free ultrasensitive electrochemical aptasensor (GO@GNP-A) for detecting cardiac biomarker Troponin I (TnI). The nanohybrid of graphene oxide (GO) and gold nanoparticles (GNP-A) is self-assembled to form the nanohybrid (GO@GNP-A), onto which the biomarker protein is analyzed. TnI interactions at the aptamer biointerfaced nanohybrid surface cause electrochemical signal enhancement. The sensitivity of this nanohybrid aptasensor platform is 0.001 pg/mL. The study has been further validated in clinical samples for early, sensitive, and efficient point-of-care detection of TnI in cases of Acute Myocardial Infarction (AMI).
