Summary: This study examines the chemopreventive impact of Andrographis paniculata ethanolic extract (APEE) against high-fat diet and 1,2-dimethylhydrazine-induced colon cancer in rats. The results show that APEE improves the dysplastic state of the colon tissue and reduces aberrant crypt foci, while also having anti-obesity and anti-cancer potential.

Summary: This study revealed the mechanism of thrombin-induced depletion of ABCA1 levels, showing that CSN3 plays a crucial role in protecting ABCA1 from degradation, thus promoting cholesterol efflux and suppressing foam cell formation. Depletion of CSN3 levels in WD-fed ApoE(-/-)mice significantly lowered ABCA1 levels and exacerbated atherosclerotic plaque formation, highlighting the potential anti-atherogenic role of CSN3.

This review summarizes the extensive research conducted on the pathogenesis and treatment of retinal degenerative diseases, including age-related macular degeneration, inherited retinal dystrophies, retinitis pigmentosa, Stargardt macular dystrophy, and Leber congenital amaurosis. The role of inflammation in retinal degeneration is highlighted, and various therapeutic approaches, such as gene therapy and stem cell-based therapies, are evaluated.

Summary: This study discovered that genetic deletion or siRNA-mediated downregulation of IL-33 can reduce pathological neovascularization in a mouse model of oxygen-induced retinopathy without affecting normal retinal repair. It was also found that IL-33 induces angiogenesis through the NFkappaB-Jagged1-Notch1 signaling pathway. Additionally, IL-33 interacts with BRCA1-associated protein 1 (BAP1) and Numb to enhance the de-ubiquitination and stabilization of Notch1 intracellular domain.
