Summary: This study found that specific miRs were associated with coronary plaque components in patients with coronary artery disease. After aerobic exercise intervention, changes in miR levels were associated with a regression of coronary plaque burden. These findings may contribute to the development of biomarkers for coronary artery disease and coronary plaque composition.

Summary: Repeated exposure to high-fat meals can lead to inflammation and oxidative stress, contributing to cardiometabolic diseases. Exercise can help prevent these diseases, but a prior exercise session may not fully counteract the effects of high-fat meals on vascular-related ci-miRs.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the long-term effects of EMS on circulating miRNA levels. The results showed that a single EMS session induces specific long-lasting changes in miR-206 and miR-133a involved in muscle proliferation and differentiation, but does not affect cardiovascular miRNAs.

Summary: Exercise training is an effective therapy for patients with heart failure with reduced ejection fraction, however, around 55% of patients do not improve their VO(2)peak. This study identified a panel of seven miRNAs that are highly correlated with VO(2)peak trainability, which may help predict training response and guide individualized exercise prescription for patients.

Summary: This study identified two putative novel miRNAs that rise with rhTSH stimulation in the serums of patients with recurrent/persistent thyroid cancer. However, known miRNAs were not found to be circulating markers for thyroid cancer recurrence.

Summary: MicroRNAs, approximately 20-24 nucleotides in length, are considered reliable diagnostic and prognostic biomarkers for various diseases due to their reflection of disease progression and drug resistance. They play a crucial role in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment response prediction of diseases, potentially improving cure rates.

Summary: This study discovered a group of circulating miRNAs associated with dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) and identified their important role in regulating myocardial apoptosis and autophagy. These miRNAs could serve as non-invasive diagnostic biomarkers for DCM and provide new insights into the pathogenesis and therapeutic targets of DCM.

Summary: MicroRNAs (miRNAs) show potential as noninvasive biomarkers for gastrointestinal cancer (GIC) due to their stability in blood and association with GIC status. Research on miRNAs is crucial for early detection and treatment improvement in GIC patients.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the circulating profile of miR-33a in normal-weight and obese adolescents, and correlate its expression levels with their metabolic parameters. The results showed that circulating miR-33a levels were significantly higher in obese adolescents and correlated with some metabolic parameters. The expression of exosomal miR-33a in plasma was lower and not correlated with metabolic parameters. Therefore, circulating miR-33a can provide important indications in the initial phase of metabolic dysfunction, stratifying obese adolescents at higher cardiometabolic risk.

Summary: This study conducted comprehensive circulating miRNA profiling in patients with ischemic stroke and identified a panel of miRNAs with potential diagnostic and prognostic significance. A multivariate classifier based on this miRNA panel showed high sensitivity and specificity in differentiating between stroke patients and healthy controls, and it outperformed other available biomarkers.
