Summary: This study observed significant effects of whole-body vibration (WBV) on bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women, with high-quality evidence for high-frequency, low-magnitude, and high-cumulative-dose use. The updated systematic review and meta-analysis found that WBV with high frequency (approximately 30 Hz), low magnitude (approximately 0.3 g), and high cumulative dose (approximately 7000 min) can improve lumbar spine BMD in postmenopausal women.

Summary: Exercise induces spatially heterogeneous bone changes in the proximal femur, with 3D-DXA technology able to assess these changes. However, there were significant differences in bone strength under different loading configurations before and after exercise intervention. The study suggests caution when interpreting the results of 3D-DXA technology in individual cases.

Summary: The use of transdermal estrogen therapy enhanced muscle mass response to resistance training in early postmenopausal women, resulting in significantly greater muscle cross-sectional area and fat-free mass compared to a placebo group.

Summary: This study developed three fracture risk prediction models based on validated clinical risk factors, with acceptable accuracy, particularly for major osteoporotic fractures and central fractures. The study also constructed nomograms for clinical practice.

Summary: This study found that a 3-month interruption of supervised group exercise in adults led to significant detraining effects, especially in muscle mass and hip/leg strength. Self-reported individual outdoor activities and exercise significantly increased during the lockdown period, indicating that people have the ability to engage in physical activity at home spontaneously.

Summary: This review analyzed previously conducted randomized controlled trials to investigate the relationship between various exercise regimes and their effect on bone mineral density in postmenopausal women. The majority of trials concluded that exercise positively impacted bone mineral density, with high-impact exercises having the most significant effect.

Summary: This study found that postmenopausal women with vertebral fractures had a higher risk associated with older age, shorter height, and lighter weight, with higher BMI observed in those with fractures. Women with osteoporosis were older and had lower height, weight, and BMD compared to those with normal bone health. Lower T-scores and bone mass were significant predictors of vertebral fracture risk.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis evaluated and updated the effects of aquatic exercise on physical fitness and quality of life in postmenopausal women. The results showed that aquatic exercise significantly improves lower limb strength, upper limb strength, agility, flexibility, and overall quality of life, but has limited effects on aerobic capacity. Aquatic exercise is highly recommended in postmenopausal women.

Summary: This study found that bone mineral density (BMD) in postmenopausal women shows different trends among different age groups. BMD decreases significantly in younger women but increases or remains stable in older women. This may contribute to the decreased incidence of osteoporotic fracture.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis aimed to determine the effects of exercise on bone mineral density in postmenopausal women and investigate the relationship between bone density and menopausal status or supervision. The results of 80 studies involving 5581 participants showed that exercise has a positive effect on bone density at the lumbar spine, femoral neck, and total hip. Furthermore, the study found that differences in bone status, menopausal status, and supervision did not significantly affect the exercise effects on bone mineral density.

Summary: This study found that whole-body vibration had no significant effect on motor unit recruitment threshold and discharge rate in the tibialis anterior muscle. Further research is needed to understand the effects of different vibration protocols on motor unit responses and the chronic effects of vibration exposure on motor control strategies.

Summary: This systematic review and meta-analysis examines the effects of vitamin D supplementation on muscle strength and mobility in postmenopausal women. The results suggest that vitamin D supplementation improves muscle strength, but has no significant effect on mobility.
