Summary: This study aimed to optimize the tribological performances of epoxy, epoxy/strand mat E-glass fiber composite, and hybrid composite of epoxy/strand mat E-glass fiber/carbon. Gray relational analysis was used to identify the optimal parameters for minimum weight loss and coefficient of friction. The results showed that the epoxy/strand mat E-glass fiber/carbon composite exhibited good wear resistance and a lower coefficient of friction.

Summary: The glass transition temperature (T-g) of epoxy thermosets is a critical material property that can be accurately measured by adjusting the DMA frequency and heating rate. DMA techniques can reveal phenomena such as peak broadening caused by poor mixing, providing valuable insights for process development and failure analysis.

Summary: In this study, we developed a novel photothermal strategy for the synthesis of polybenzoxazines that takes place under ambient conditions. By utilizing the optical and thermal properties of benzoxazine-catalyst systems, we achieved the conversion of benzoxazine monomers into polymer materials with some key features of polybenzoxazines. Additionally, our approach allowed for spatial control of polymerization, enabling the fabrication of polybenzoxazine patterns through photolithography.

Summary: The study evaluates the efficiency of [DES](Arg/Eg) and [DES](Glu/Eg) deep eutectic solvents on the curing reaction of DGEBA, showing that they can act as catalysts, hardeners, and conducting agents simultaneously. Different reaction kinetics are observed, with [DES](Glu/Eg) having higher activation energy compared to [DES](Arg/Eg), and [DES](Arg/Eg) demonstrating high efficiency in completing the curing reaction similar to conducting dopants.

Summary: HPBI is a thermal latent curing accelerator with long storage stability and high curing activity at high temperatures. The intramolecular hydrogen bond of HPBI provides inertness towards resins at room temperature, while releasing high activity pyridine-type nitrogen at elevated temperatures to accelerate the curing process of epoxy/phenolic resins. The thermosets from HPBI exhibit comparable mechanical and thermal properties with common curing accelerators, showing great potential for application in the electronic packaging field.

Summary: The discovery of huge petroleum reserves in the 19th century drove the industrial revolution but also led to concerns over global warming and environmental issues, prompting researchers to seek biorenewable monomers and more sustainable polymer production. Natural feedstocks such as cellulose and hemicellulose have been explored as sources for epoxy resin synthesis, with an aim to replace phthalic moieties in polyethylene terephthalate. The study highlights advancements in preparing diamines and diepoxy monomers from furanic sources, emphasizing the potential of biobased monomers as substitutes for nonrenewable ones in epoxy resin production.

Summary: In this study, 3-aminopropyltriethoxysilane was used as an intermediate to prepare silicone prepolymer, which was self-assembled in the cycloaliphatic epoxy resin (CEP) to improve both toughness and hydrophobic properties. The tensile strength and static contact angle of CEP were enhanced significantly when containing 10 phr of silicone prepolymer, mainly influenced by the distribution of the dispersed phase and surface tension.
