Summary: The formation mechanism and diffusion behavior of silver nanoparticles in a phase-separated medium are investigated using liquid phase transmission electron microscopy and many-body dissipative particle dynamics simulations. The results suggest that the motion of silver nanoparticles at the interfaces is highly influenced by polymer interaction and exhibits superdiffusive dynamics.

Summary: This study proposes a three-stage method for simulating non-Gaussian fields over manifolds. The original manifold is first dimensionally reduced to a Euclidean domain, and then the underlying Gaussian field is simulated over the Euclidean domain using conventional representations. Finally, an enhanced translation procedure is used to convert the Gaussian field to the target non-Gaussian field over the manifold. The method's applicability and accuracy are demonstrated through simulations and error analysis.

Summary: This study proposes a two-stage running-in procedure based on the lubrication regime and nanoparticle effect to improve the performance and lifetime of a machine. The first stage involves wearing down the high peaks of surface asperities, while the second stage trims the asperity peak using soft CuO particles. The method is verified using a disk-on-block experiment, and the results show improved friction coefficient, wear, and anti-scuffing performance.

Summary: Two IL thermomorphic systems were designed for the recovery of Au(III) from acidic medium, and their cloud point order was proposed and confirmed through experimental measurements and quantum chemical calculations. The impacts of salt ions and acid on the thermomorphic phase behavior of the IL-H2O system were investigated. The dicationic IL [Suc][Tf2N](2) showed outstanding selectivity for Au(III) and maintained extraction efficiency after multiple cycling experiments, indicating it as a potential extractant for gold recovery.

Summary: This paper investigates the influence of relaxation time in a two-dimensional thermoelastic medium with a doubly porous structure under diffusion and gravity. The normal mode analysis is used to derive analytic expressions of physical quantities in exponential form. The study examines a homogeneous thermoelastic half-space with double porosity, taking into account the effects of diffusion and gravity. Generalized thermoelastic equations with double porosity and a single relaxation time are developed, and expressions for various physical quantities are provided. The general solutions under specific boundary conditions are obtained, and numerical results are computed.

Summary: This work presents an efficient method for the preparation of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8 (ZIF-8) using zinc ions (Zn2+) and 2-methylimidazole (2-MI) promoted by 1,8-diazabicyclo[5.4.0]undec-7-ene (DBU). The mechanism of ZIF-8 formation and the effect of DBU concentration were investigated. ZnO and Ce/ZnO nanomaterials were prepared using ZIF-8 and cerium-containing ZIF-8 as precursors, and their structure and morphology were characterized. The photocatalytic degradation ability of ZnO and Ce/ZnO for Rhodamine B under visible light and sunlight was also studied.

Summary: Novel ionic liquids with the ability to adsorb CO2 were synthesized and demonstrated efficient catalytic ability for the conversion of CO2 into cyclic carbonates without the need for co-catalysts or solvents. The reusability of the catalyst was also established, presenting a new pathway for exploring the potential of ionic liquids in chemical fixation of CO2.

Summary: The formation of palladium nanoparticles via thermal decomposition of palladium acetate in hydroxyl functionalized ionic liquid was studied using in-situ energy dispersive X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy and complementary methods. The process can be divided into three successive stages: explosive nucleation, autocatalytic surface growth, and NP attachment growth, based on reaction kinetics and characterization results.

Summary: The study shows that the consolidation process of peaty soil in Dali area of Yunnan Province can be divided into three stages, with the completion time of consolidation at each stage exhibiting an exponential function relationship with the load level. Deformation during the consolidation process is mainly caused by drainage, with organic matter decomposition affecting deformation in the tertiary consolidation stage. The influence of permeability on the consolidation process is primarily observed in the primary and secondary consolidation stages.

Summary: A novel three-dimensional filter based on corn stalk and ZnO nanoparticles was prepared for potential water sterilization. Different zinc sources influenced the morphology and chemical characteristics of ZnO loaded in corn stalk, resulting in various antibacterial activities. The antimicrobial mechanism of CS/ZnO included interception of bacteria, physical friction, chemical reactions, and damage to cell membranes, enhancing the bactericidal efficiency of nano ZnO.

Summary: In this study, a new strategy for coloring polymer-based composites using three primary nanocomposites has been reported. The composites show different colors and various spectral colors, where the nanocomposites act as both primary nanopigments and a connecting bridge to the polymer matrix. Additionally, the colored polymer-based composites exhibit excellent opacity and UV protection. This work provides a facile approach for achieving arbitrary colors in the polymer field.

Summary: Zinc oxide (ZnO) nanostructures with nanoparticle morphology were synthesized using [OMIM]Br ionic liquid as a solvent and template by ionothermal method. The effect of temperature on the properties of ZnO nanostructures was investigated, and it was found that higher annealing temperature in the ionic liquid resulted in ZnO nanoparticles with increased crystalline structure and enlarged band gap. The Z-scan technique was used to study the nonlinear optical (NLO) responses of the samples, and it was observed that ZnO samples prepared at higher temperatures and longer exposure time in [OMIM]Br ionic liquid exhibited greater NLO responses compared to Cu-doped ZnO.
