Summary: Enzymatic carbon fixation is a key process in CO2 sequestration. This study demonstrates that the concentration of CO2(aq) is crucial for increasing CO2 fixation yield in a homogeneous reaction under alkaline conditions, with a high concentration of HCO3- also playing a role in promoting carboxylation by decarboxylase. Furthermore, the highest CO2 fixation yield was achieved under specific reaction conditions, with a good turnover frequency for carboxylation reactions.

Summary: Several alkanolamines were studied to investigate the steric hindrance effect on the reaction kinetics between amine and CO2 in ethanol and aqueous solutions. It was found that stronger steric hindrance decreases the reaction rate, while a larger pKa value of the amine accelerates the deprotonation reaction. Additionally, the solvent environment also affects the relative influence of steric hindrance and pKa on the reaction kinetics.

Summary: Designing a stable water-deficient solvation sheath through ligand substitution can protect the zinc metal anode and achieve fast nucleation/dissolution while suppressing the HER. The solvation energy shows a strong correlation with Zn nucleation/dissolution kinetics and HER inhibition ability, displaying a classic volcano behavior.

Summary: This study investigates the use of aqueous solutions of amino acids for CO2 absorption. The kinetics of CO2 absorption in sodium serinate solutions and their blend with piperazine were studied. The results show that sodium serinate solution can be used as a CO2 absorbent, and adding piperazine to the solution can improve the CO2 absorption efficiency.

Summary: The study focused on the degradation of sulfonamides used in veterinary medicine through the Fenton process, showing that UVa irradiation can enhance reaction efficiency. Furthermore, it was found that increasing the dose of H2O2 may lead to an increase in the ecotoxicity of the post-reaction mixture.

Summary: This study reports the photocatalytic reduction of CO2 to CO in aqueous solution using polymer dots (Pdots) without the need for additional co-catalysts. The Pdots showed high CO production rate and selectivity, and maintained stability after repeated cycles of CO2 re-purging. Mechanistic study revealed the process of the photocatalytic reaction and highlighted the potential application of organic Pdots for CO2 reduction.

Summary: This study investigates the dissolution of uranium in aqueous solutions containing HCO3- and H2O2. The experiments show that UC dissolves readily in a solution with 10mM HCO3- and the presence of H2O2 further enhances its dissolution. UC also dissolves in pure water with H2O2, although at a slower rate compared to solutions containing both HCO3- and H2O2.

Summary: This study investigated the separation of Hexamethylenediamine (HMD) from dilute aqueous solutions using phase separation techniques, with sodium hydroxide (NaOH) found to significantly promote the phase separation. It was also discovered that sodium sulfate and sodium carbonate can enhance the phase separation, but are unable to induce phase separation without the presence of sodium hydroxide.
