Summary: An environmentally friendly synthesis procedure has been developed for the effective sorption of strontium and cesium ions. The method minimizes environmental impact by controlling waste water acidity and reusing components in the enrichment process. The new approach allows for the regulation of composition, crystallinity, and sorption properties of the synthesized titanosilicate.

Summary: The physicochemical properties of Sr2+, Ba2+, and Ra2+ in water were studied using classical molecular dynamics simulations, showing satisfactory theoretical-experimental comparisons. Analysis of the hydration shell structures and dynamics revealed differences in hydration numbers and M-O distances among the three ions. The similarity between Ba2+ and Ra2+ aqueous solutions was highlighted, supporting experimental studies on Ra-226 removal by replacing Ra2+ with Ba2+.

Summary: The evolution of domain structure during polarization reversal in single crystals of a relaxor ferroelectric strontium-barium niobate doped with Ni2O3 was investigated. Three types of domains were identified, including domains with a broad boundary, cylindrical domains, and conical domains. Three stages of domain shape evolution were distinguished in the domain with a broad boundary, and the velocities of wall motion and domain growth were measured for all types of domains.

Summary: The temperature dependences of the complex permittivity components ε' and ε" for Ba1- (x) Sr (x) TiO3 (0.1≤x≤0.7) solid solution obtained by two-stage ceramic technology were investigated. Both components ε' and ε" pass through the pronounced maxima near the Curie point. A growth of the ε' maximum with an increase in the concentration of Sr atoms is associated with a reduction in the average grain size and an increase in the volume fraction of the intergranular layer having a lower ε' compared to a grain. The increase in the diffusion of the phase transition with the concentration of Sr atoms is due to the greater heterogeneity of the solid solution. Based on the dielectric data, temperature dependences of the local order parameter were plotted.

Summary: A 1D nonlinear plasma photonic crystal (NPPC) structure composed of polarized ferroelectric crystals and nonlinear plasma periodic alternation is proposed and analyzed for second harmonic generation (SHG) using the transfer matrix method. Numerical simulations are performed to investigate the effects of incident angles and external control wave intensities on the total conversion efficiency (T-con) of the second harmonic wave (SHW). The importance of the relationship between the fundamental wave frequency and photonic band gap (PBG) in enhancing SHG is summarized, and optimal structure parameters for maximizing T-con are identified.

Summary: The effects of monovalent cations at the fused silica:water interface under different pH conditions were investigated using amplitude- and phase-resolved second-harmonic generation spectroscopy. The results showed that the influence of monovalent cations was negligible, while the presence of high concentration anionic surfactants had a significant impact on the interface.

Summary: New polycyclic aromatic derivatives, crown naphthothiophenes, annulated both with thiophene and with 15-crown-5 ether moieties, were successfully synthesized via the Mallory photocyclization. Their complexation with Ba2+ and Mg2+ cations was investigated using optical and electrochemical methods, revealing the chemical stability of the compounds in the oxidized state depending on their structure.

Summary: Formation of circular-shaped isolated domains surrounded by broad domain boundaries (BDB) during dot ion beam irradiation in SBN:Ni crystals with submicron domain structure was investigated. The sizes and depths of the domains and BDBs increased proportionally to the square root of the irradiation dose. The observed abnormal domain structure evolution was attributed to equiprobable positions of the steps due to merging with nanodomains. The increase in BDBs with depth was explained by the spatial distribution characteristics of the field polar component in the bulk.

Summary: The study focused on the formation of domain structures in thermally depolarized Ce-doped strontium barium niobate single crystals covered by a dielectric layer through ion beam irradiation. It was found that the size and depth of the domains depended on the irradiated dose, with isolated circular domains and a linear dose dependence of the switched area.
