Summary: In this study, a newly synthesized indole derivative, CF3-allylated indole, was found to effectively inhibit adipogenesis by regulating PKA/AMPK signaling in the early stage of adipocyte differentiation. These findings suggest the potential of CF3-allylated indole in controlling initial adipocyte differentiation in metabolic disorders such as obesity.

Summary: This study evaluated the effects of extracts from transgenic rice on inhibiting adipogenesis and anti-inflammatory activity. The results showed that the extracts significantly reduced lipid accumulation in cells and inhibited the expression of adipogenesis-related mRNA and inflammation-related factors. Therefore, transgenic rice may have potential as an obesity-reducing and/or -preventing agent.

Summary: The compounds isolated from Salix pseudolasiogyne twigs, oregonin and 2'-O-acetylsalicortin, were found to exhibit anti-adipogenic effects, with the latter significantly suppressing lipid accumulation at a concentration of 50 μM. These compounds have the potential to be used as therapeutic agents to effectively control adipocyte differentiation, a critical stage in the progression of obesity.

Summary: Substantial levels of lysozyme in adipose tissue have been found in association with obesity in mice and humans. This study investigates the role of lysozyme in adipogenesis, focusing on its expression and impact during 3T3-L1 adipocyte differentiation. The results suggest that lysozyme expression is important for the expression of adipogenic genes and adipocyte differentiation.

Summary: The addition of PGD(2) or 11d-11m-PGD(2) during the differentiation phase of 3T3-L1 cells suppresses adipogenesis by downregulating the expression of PPAR gamma. 11d-11m-PGD(2) has a stronger inhibitory effect compared to PGD(2) due to its higher resistance to transformation into PGJ(2) derivatives. The inhibitory effects of PGD(2) and 11d-11m-PGD(2) on adipogenesis are slightly weakened by a DP2 agonist, and the addition of these molecules during differentiation reduces the expression of DP1 and DP2 receptors.

Summary: The prevalence of obesity has been rapidly increasing worldwide. Ginger has an anti-obesogenic effect due to its high content of gingerols. This study demonstrates the anti-adipogenic and lipolytic effects of the main bioactive compounds found in ginger, providing a basis for further in vivo studies and clinical trials.

Summary: Inhibition of adipocyte differentiation by menadione, a synthetic form of vitamin K, is mediated, at least in part, by increased ROS and lipid peroxidation, leading to decreased intracellular lipid accumulation and triglyceride content by inhibiting the PI3K/Akt pathway.

Summary: Growing evidence shows that restricting amino acid intake can reverse obesity by reducing adipose tissue mass. Amino acids not only serve as building blocks for proteins but also play a role as signaling molecules in various biological processes. Understanding how adipocytes respond to changes in amino acid levels is crucial for studying obesity and developing potential treatments.
