Summary: This study demonstrates the potential of immunotherapy for lung cancer by examining the impact of Thymic Stromal Lymphopoietin (TSLP) cytokine induction on early lung cancer development. TSLP induction suppresses the development of invasive lung tumors, dependent on CD4(+) T cells. This highlights the importance of adaptive immune response in protecting against lung cancer progression.

Summary: TSLP, particularly the long form, plays a crucial role in immune-mediated skin diseases, driving Th2 and Th17 immune responses, inducing itch, and being associated with skin fibrosis and epidermal hyperplasia. Targeting TSLP may have significant implications for the treatment of these diseases in the future.

Summary: The expression levels of TSLP, TSLPR and IL-10 genes were found to be elevated in ectopic endometriotic lesions of patients with endometriosis. Epigenetic marks of methylation and acetylation in the TSLP promoter were also detected. These findings suggest that TSLP and TSLPR may play important roles in the development of endometriosis.

Summary: Mastocytosis is a heterogeneous disease characterized by uncontrolled proliferation and increased density of mast cells. In this study, it was found that serum concentrations of Thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) were lower in patients with mastocytosis compared to healthy donors. TSLP was found to be a substrate for human mast cell tryptase, indicating a novel connection between these mediators in mastocytosis.

Summary: Two isoforms of TSLP, lTSLP and sTSLP, exist in rheumatoid arthritis (RA), with lTSLP being predominant in active RA and sTSLP in inactive RA and healthy controls. lTSLP expression is associated with disease activity and proinflammatory cytokine expression. lTSLP promotes the expression of proinflammatory cytokines in PBMCs of RA, while inhibiting the expression of anti-inflammatory cytokines.

Summary: TSLP is a critical cytokine in allergy and asthma development, primarily produced by epithelial cells. It functions as a potent immune system activator through interaction with its receptor complex. Understanding the interplay between TSLP and dysfunctional epithelium provides insights into allergy and asthma pathogenesis.

Summary: Chloroquine (CQ) exhibits anti-inflammatory effects by modulating TSLP levels in mast cells and reducing ear edema thickness, as well as TSLP levels in ear tissue and serum. The down-regulation of CASP1, NF-kappa B, and other signaling cascades by CQ contributes to its protective role against TSLP-mediated inflammatory disorders.

Summary: Plasma TSLP levels were higher in AMI patients compared to UA patients, and lower TSLP levels were associated with MACE after AMI. Follow-up analysis showed that TSLP was a negative predictor of MACE in AMI patients.

Summary: Previously believed to have similar functions as type I interferon, type III interferon (IFN-III) is now shown to play a unique role in innate antiviral immune responses. The regulatory activity of IFN-III in adaptive immune responses has not been clearly reported yet due to receptor expression limitations. However, this study reviewed the adjuvant, antiviral, antitumor, and disease-moderating activities of IFN-III in adaptive immunity, and elucidated the mechanisms of IFN-III in mediating the adaptive antiviral immune response through the TSLP axis.

Summary: Research shows that TSLP-activated CD4(+) T cells have antitumor effects in advanced breast cancer by inducing cancer cells into a senescent-like state. Inflammatory CD4(+) T cells release interferon-gamma and tumor necrosis factor-alpha, which directly affects cancer cell receptors, driving them into senescence.

Summary: The mRNA destabilizing factor tristetraprolin (TTP) functions as a tumor suppressor by down-regulating cancer-associated genes. Reduced expression of TTP in various cancers contributes to cancer progression. This study identified DXM-21-P and BTM-21-P as potent inducers of TTP in breast cancer cells. Furthermore, FOXO1 was found to play a crucial role in the DXM-21-P and BTM-21-P-induced expression of TTP in cancer cells.

Summary: This study found that macrophages are the main source of IL-31 in atopic dermatitis (AD) skin lesions. It demonstrated the association of macrophages, TSLP, and periostin with AD itch, and the attenuation of itch symptoms with macrophage depletion. The study suggests that a network comprising IL-31-expressing macrophages, TSLP, periostin, and basophils plays a significant role in AD itch.
