Summary: In this study, we found that phospholipase C-related catalytically inactive protein (PRIP) enhances cisplatin-induced apoptosis in breast cancer cells. PRIP promotes XIAP degradation by inhibiting PI (3,4,5)P3/AKT signaling, leading to enhanced cisplatin-induced apoptotic cell death. Therefore, PRIP1-PH liposomes may be a novel agent to avoid cisplatin resistance.

Summary: The study by Shi et al. demonstrates that the tumor-suppressive and developmental functions of UTX rely on an intrinsically disordered region (IDR) capable of forming condensates. These findings further support the functional role of IDR-mediated spatial organization in regulating gene expression in development and disease.

Summary: This study investigated the role of recombinant human semaphorin 4D (Sema4D) in bisphosphonate-related osteonecrosis of the jaw (BRONJ) induced by zoledronic acid (ZOL). It was found that recombinant human Sema4D effectively alleviated the inhibitory effects of ZOL on osteoclast formation and apoptosis, while promoting osteoblast formation.

Summary: The GlNPC3 gene in Glehnia littoralis plays a positive role in salt adaptation by altering membrane lipid composition and increasing salt tolerance in plants. Overexpression of GlNPC3 promotes root growth and enhances plant mass under salt stress. The gene is widely expressed in various tissues of the plant, with a subcellular location mainly at the plasma membrane and partially at the tonoplast.

Summary: This study investigated the function of phospholipase C in maize seedlings by using a phospholipase C inhibitor. The results showed that inhibition of phospholipase C impaired the growth and development of maize seedlings, affected photosynthesis and carbon metabolism, and influenced the stability of the cell membrane. High-throughput RNA-seq analysis revealed that differentially expressed genes were enriched in photosynthesis and carbon metabolism pathways. Overall, phospholipase C plays a key role in photosynthesis and the growth and development of maize seedlings.

Summary: The study revealed important pharmacogenetic information related to verapamil prophylactic treatment in well-characterized subpopulations of migraine patients, highlighting the earlier pathogenic understanding of migraine. No association was found between genetic variation in verapamil metabolic enzymes and treatment response.

Summary: This study compared the clinical characteristics, especially the skeletal involvement, between patients with MHPT and SHPT. The duration of disease in the MHPT group was longer, but the age at hospital visit was significantly lower. The proportion of skeletal involvement in the MHPT group was significantly lower, but among MHPT cases with normal BMD, there were still patients with bone microstructure damage.

Summary: This review summarized the epigenetic regulation of secondary metabolism in tea, emphasizing the important roles of DNA methylation and histone acetylation in plant secondary metabolism. Feasible research strategies were discussed to elucidate the specific epigenetic mechanisms underlying the regulation of secondary metabolism in tea, providing key epigenetic data for future tea genetic breeding research.

Summary: LMNA-related muscular dystrophy is a rare condition that can lead to various laminopathies such as Emery-Dreifuss muscular dystrophy (EDMD), limb-girdle muscular dystrophy type 1B (LGMD1B), and LMNA-related congenital muscular dystrophy (L-CMD). It is associated with heart failure, malignant arrhythmias, and sudden death. This study aimed to comprehensively evaluate the cardiac status of pediatric patients with LMNA-related muscular dystrophy. The results showed that 20% of the patients had malignant arrhythmias, and early-onset EDMD was associated with worse cardiac prognosis.
