There has been an increase in the consumption and production of Japanese comics or manga globally and in Malaysia, to the extent that Malaysians are producing their own homegrown manga titles. This presentation analyses the way diversity of social categories are depicted in Malaysian and Japanese manga comparatively, as an educational and discourse platform.
