海报摘要

Severe dengue infection is characterized with plasma leakage. Currently there are no means to monitor the disease manifestation. Present study discusses the expression dynamics of two interferon-inducible antiviral molecules called Guanylate Binding Proteins (GBP1 &2) and their efficacy in predicting disease severity. A decreased expression of GBP-1 and 2 accompanied with elevated levels of plasma leakage in severe dengue cases during the critical phase was recorded. Machine models found that GBP1 and 2 levels along with routine clinical symptoms could predict the dengue disease severity with higher accuracy. Thus, GBP1 and GBP2 are potential candidates as the prognostic markers for the early prediction of dengue severity.
