The effect of Thaumatococcus daniellii seed ethanol extract on lipid profile in male Wistar rats was assessed using standard methods. The extract decreased cholesterol, triglyceride, low-density cholesterol and increased high-density cholesterolin in the brain, heart, testes and plasma of the experimental animals. Hence Thaumatococcus daniellii seed may be further exploited for its hypolipidemic properties in management and treatment of diseases associated with obesity.
