Did you finally get hired?

科研新手123 2023-06-26

Is the review process of this journal for genome papers fast now? Does anyone know?

卡巴斯基 2023-04-03

May I ask how much is the layout fee after being hired?

AAAA 2023-02-22

The opinions of the two reviewers are contradictory, so another reviewer will be sought. Alternatively, if the opinions given by the two reviewers are perfunctory, another reviewer will be found. In short, the editor has a favorable impression of your manuscript, otherwise it would have been rejected.

Why did it change from "under review" to "awaiting recommendation" for a month, and then back to "under review" after a week?

Is this journal by invitation only?

ye 2022-07-28

I would like to ask about the general process. My status changed from "under review" to "Awaiting EIC Decision" without any other steps. Does this mean that my application will be rejected?

绕城西路 2022-06-22

The speed of the manuscript review is at a normal level, and the results will be available within a month. The reviewer provided very professional opinions, and although it required major revisions, it improved the quality of the article. I am very grateful to the professional reviewer! Overall, the feeling is good.
If the article has sufficient data and some degree of innovation, it can be submitted.

21.4.13 manuscript received
21.4.13 editor assigned
21.4.14 manuscript under consideration
21.4.23 reviewers invited
21.4.25 manuscript under consideration
21.5.9 under review
21.5.21 minor revision
21.6.8 manuscript received
21.6.8 editor assigned
21.6.8 manuscript under consideration
21.6.13 decision made
21.6.16 decision sent to author (accept)

The speed of this article is acceptable, but our other article is very slow.

After submission, there were major and minor revisions before acceptance. The submission was made in April, and it was accepted on October 2nd, in less than six months. It was an exhausting process, but finally, it was accepted. The editor was very nice, and the reviewers were also friendly. They not only provided comments and revisions on the structure of the article but also gave very detailed modifications. It was my first first-author SCI paper, and the experience was great.

Thanks, I plan to give it a try and see if it rejects me. I'll go and test the waters. After 2020, there have been very few posts about this publication, so I want to experience it myself.

Hello, bro. I logged in and commented using my WeChat account on the mini program before, so I couldn't reply directly to you. Now I have registered a new account with my email to reply to you. I think your concerns are possible because when I was rejected by the associate editor after resubmitting my paper for half a year, the editor suggested that I submit to Vegetable Research, the journal you mentioned, which is currently without an impact factor. I also faced graduation issues. Later on, I submitted to Frontiers in Plant Science and it was accepted just over a month later. I was lucky. In fact, the six-month rejection process by HR has already delayed my graduation. I was supposed to graduate this summer, but now it's pushed to the end of the year.

If you are also in a hurry to graduate, I suggest being cautious about submitting to this journal (although I admit that it is of a high standard). Currently, the journal is slow in operation due to the high volume of submissions. What I can't stand the most is that if your research level is mediocre, they won't reject it straightforwardly. Sometimes, they just keep dragging it on and hesitate. It's really frustrating! So when facing graduation, it's better to submit to a faster journal. HR is suitable for showcasing star research results in large research groups and they don't care much about the review cycle. The era of getting a review result in three to four months is gone and won't come back.

Bro, do you know anyone around you who has submitted to this journal? I want to ask if the review process is always this long after 2021. Do studies on transcription, metabolism, and proteomics get reviewed faster? I'm wondering if it's because your work is purely theoretical and they can't find enough reviewers. Recently, South Agricultural University has collaborated with Science on two new journals. I'm afraid that if I submit to HR, they will drag the review process for six months and then ask me to switch to the other two journals that don't have impact factors yet. That would be a huge loss for me.
