Indoor and Built Environment publishes reports on any topic pertaining to the quality of the indoor and built environment, and how these might effect the health, performance, efficiency and comfort of persons living or working there. Topics range from urban infrastructure, design of buildings, and materials used to laboratory studies including building airflow simulations and health effects. This journal is a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

The review process is fast, and generally, review suggestions can be provided within a week. Major revisions are usually given a two-month revision period, while minor revisions are given one month. Grammar and formatting errors in the later stages of the paper will be returned for minor revisions. Language requirements are relatively strict, and the associate editor and editor-in-chief may make minor modifications to the language of the article.

The appropriate reviewers for the articles I possibly submitted were not found, so the process was relatively slow. The editor-in-chief did make some changes to the sentences in the end, as they prefer using British English. The editor-in-chief seems to have a strong personality and always says, "If you don't follow my requirements, I will reject your submission next time." I wonder if anyone else has had a similar experience.
