目标和范围
Engineering geology is defined in the statutes of the IAEG as the science devoted to the investigation, study and solution of engineering and environmental problems which may arise as the result of the interaction between geology and the works or activities of man, as well as of the prediction of and development of measures for the prevention or remediation of geological hazards. Engineering geology embraces:
• the applications/implications of the geomorphology, structural geology, and hydrogeological conditions of geological formations;
• the characterisation of the mineralogical, physico-geomechanical, chemical and hydraulic properties of all earth materials involved in construction, resource recovery and environmental change;
• the assessment of the mechanical and hydrological behaviour of soil and rock masses;
• the prediction of changes to the above properties with time;
• the determination of the parameters to be considered in the stability analysis of engineering works and earth masses.

Then I wrote a response with comments and, surprisingly, another two months passed. On October 30th, they sent me a rejection email, stating that the editor-in-chief was surprised to see comments on the first submission. This is ridiculous because they asked for preprint comments.
I suggest everyone never submit to this journal. It is extremely unprofessional. I couldn't bear it and sent an email to the editorial department, strongly condemning the inaction of Arindam Basu and others as the editor-in-chief. It is clearly intentional harassment of our Chinese submissions.
Remember not to submit to this journal. Absolutely do not submit!
Major revision on December 1st, with 12 comments from 2 reviewers. Both reviewers seem to be foreigners, and their comments are very professional.
Revised manuscript returned on December 29th.
Accepted directly on January 25, 2022.
Discussing my own submission experience: Although I have also submitted to EI and SCI journals in both China and abroad, it is obvious that foreign journals are much more formal. The main difference lies in the reviewers and editors. Foreign reviewers (including Chinese reviewers) will provide rejection comments in a very professional manner. It is clear that they have carefully read your paper and their comments are very insightful. It is difficult to respond, as I took 3 days to answer one comment from a reviewer when I submitted to BOEG. You know they are right, but it is just hard to respond.
On the other hand, some Chinese EI journals have impolite reviewers who quickly make comments without much thought. If they don't want to review, they can simply decline, but they should not make baseless claims.
