Summary: Southeast China is an important polymetallic metallogenic province with distinct differences in mineral deposits between major metallogenic belts. In order to understand the metallogenic differences and explore seismic imaging feasibility, a multibatch seismic experiment was conducted in the Qin-Hang and Wuyishan metallogenic belts. By analyzing the obtained seismic velocity models, geological observations, and mineralogical evidence, it was found that certain fault zones act as ore-guiding structures, facilitating the formation of regionally representative mineral species and metal assemblages.

Summary: By studying the seismic velocity structure of the South China Block, various characteristics of its crust, such as differences in crustal thickness and lower-than-average Vp/Vs ratio, were revealed. Compared to the global seismic velocity model, using the P-wave velocity model modified by WARR data can provide a more accurate estimation of the Moho depth.

Summary: Crustal anisotropy parameters beneath the Qinling Orogenic Belt and its surrounding areas exhibit strong and spatially varying characteristics. The presence of middle-lower crustal flow is suggested by the measurements, along with other geophysical data. The crustal anisotropy in the eastern part of the Qinling Orogenic Belt indicates layered deformation of the crust.

Summary: The Hawaiian-Emperor volcanic chain in the North Pacific Ocean includes the older Emperor chain and the younger Hawaiian chain, with ongoing debates on its formation related to hot spot drift and/or Pacific plate motion change. A joint model has been proposed to explain the evolution of the chain, suggesting that a combination of these two processes may be involved. Further comprehensive work is needed to establish causal links between surface plate motion and deep mantle dynamics.

Summary: In this study, high-resolution seismic images of the crust beneath the Arunachal Himalaya were obtained using teleseismic receiver functions. The crust beneath this region was observed to be less complex compared to that in Nepal and Sikkim Himalaya, with intermittent anisotropic low velocity layer in the middle crust indicating a mechanically weak structure. The presence of strong anisotropy associated with the low velocity layer at depths of 20-30 km suggests a contentious attribution to the channel flow model.

Summary: This study investigates the crustal magmatism at the southern Kyushu-Palau Ridge (KPR) using seismic profiles, and reveals the presence of two independent seamounts with different periods of magmatism, leading to diversities in arc structures. The study also suggests that multiple volcanic sources and episodic magmatism are responsible for the variation in KPR's structures, and the initiation of back-arc spreading and partial remelting of the lower island arc contributed to the reconstruction of the preexisting island arc.

Summary: The structures in the upper plate have a significant impact on the geometry, hydration state, and segmentation of large megathrust earthquakes at subduction zones. High forearc wavespeeds and dense, high-rigidity plutons play a crucial role in forcing the subduction of incoming plates. Reduced mantle velocities beneath the region of maximum curvature and faulting may indicate serpentinization of the subducting mantle. The study also highlights the occurrence of large earthquakes originating from the flanks of these plutons.

Summary: The seismic receiver function technique is widely used for imaging the earth's deep interior economically. P-wave receiver functions constrain crustal thickness and average Vp/Vs by analyzing the Ps phase and multiples from the Moho. Regional studies often show significant differences between the Moho depth constrained by RF and by reflection/refraction methods.

Summary: The deep crustal structure beneath the North Sea is poorly understood but the mid to lower crust plays important roles in rift initiation and evolution. Ancient tectonic features exist beneath the North Sea, making it an ideal location to investigate regional heterogeneity and rifting interactions.

Summary: Jeju Island is characterized by a complex magma plumbing system, with deep crustal seismic structure showing variations between different regions, reflecting diverse rock compositions and dynamic processes. The presence of a residual magma plumbing system on the island was revealed through dense seismic data, and the use of robust research methods aids in enhancing our understanding of the island's evolution.

Summary: A joint tomographic inversion method combining seismic surface wave dispersion and gravity data was developed in this study to achieve more reliable crustal 3-D shear wave structures. The method was shown to better match the gravity data and provide more constraints into the model resolution, improving the reliability of the results.

Summary: A new method was employed in a geophysical survey of the Ninety East Ridge of the Indian Ocean to perform proportional double seismic source excitation and simultaneously receive signals from the sea surface and the seabed. The survey used two sets of seismic sources with different energies and dominant frequencies, G gun arrays and Bolt gun arrays, and received signals using a 480-channel seismic streamer towed from the sea surface and 21 ocean bottom seismometers (OBS). By processing the data obtained, deep seismic profiles from both the Bolt gun seismic source and the active-source OBS survey were obtained along with the conventional G gun seismic source profile, greatly improving the efficiency of offshore deep-sea seismic surveys.
