Summary: The study compared perioperative outcomes of LS and OS for repairing colonoscopic perforation, finding that LS had shorter postoperative hospital stay and time to resuming soft diet compared to OS. However, there was no significant difference in complication rates and classification between the two groups. ASA score >= 3 and treatment plan changes were identified as independent predictors of complications.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the clinical differences between inpatient-onset and outpatient-onset acute lower gastrointestinal bleeding (ALGIB). The results showed that the clinical course was significantly worse in the inpatient-onset cohort, with a higher proportion of patients experiencing a poor clinical course. There were also differences in clinical characteristics and bleeding sources between the two cohorts.

Summary: A multicenter long-term cohort study has shown that endoscopic band ligation (EBL) is an effective and safe treatment for colonic diverticular hemorrhage (CDH), with lower rebleeding rates, reduced need for interventional radiology, and shorter length of hospital stay.

Summary: Diagnostic iatrogenic colonic perforation is more frequent in older women, mostly occurring in the rectosigmoid region, and can be immediately detected. Endoscopic repair is more suitable for diagnostic perforations and smaller perforations.

Summary: The study evaluated the outcomes of intra-procedural deep mural injury (DMI) in large non-pedunculated colorectal polyps (LNPCPs) undergoing endoscopic mucosal resection (EMR). It found that significant DMI can be managed endoscopically with high success rates and does not impact technical success or recurrence.

Summary: Young-onset advanced adenoma diagnosis is associated with an 8-fold increased risk of incident colorectal cancer compared with normal colonoscopy. However, the cumulative incidence and mortality of colorectal cancer at 10 years among individuals with either young onset non-advanced or advanced adenoma diagnosis were both relatively low.

Summary: Mortality in patients with acute lower GI bleeding is mainly related to age and comorbidities. Early colonoscopy has a high diagnostic yield, but endoscopic hemostasis is not associated with improved clinical outcomes.

Summary: This study aimed to clarify the clinical course and management of adverse events (AEs) after endoscopic resection (ER) for superficial duodenal epithelial tumors (SDETs). The results showed that delayed perforation had a higher surgical conversion rate compared to other AEs, and involvement of the major papilla and delayed perforation were significant risk factors for surgical conversion after AEs.

Summary: This study explored the efficacy and safety of midazolam combined with dezocine for sedation in IBD patients undergoing colonoscopy. The results showed that compared to ordinary colonoscopy, colonoscopy performed under midazolam and dezocine sedation was associated with lower pain levels, higher satisfaction, and lower complication rates. Therefore, this method is worthy of clinical promotion.

Summary: The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of remimazolam besylate combined with esketamine for outpatient colonoscopy. The results showed that remimazolam besylate combined with esketamine achieved similar efficacy to propofol, with reduced injection pain and more stable hemodynamics. However, it prolonged induction and awakening time.

Summary: This study compares the incidence of unplanned hospital visits after gastrointestinal endoscopy performed in ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs) versus hospital outpatient departments (Hospitals). The study found that ASC patients had fewer post-procedure hospital encounters, indicating that GI endoscopy could be safely performed in ASCs for select patients.
