Summary: This study evaluated the ability of a preoperative contrast-enhanced CT (CECT)-based radiomics nomogram to differentiate between benign and malignant primary retroperitoneal tumors (PRT). Using machine learning algorithms and clinical data, a predictive model was developed that incorporated facial features, clinical data, and radiomics features to determine the nature of the tumor. The results of the study showed that the radiomics predictive model had high accuracy and clinical value in differentiating between benign and malignant PRT.

Summary: This study analyzed 49 patients with symptoms of endogenous hyperinsulinemic hypoglycemia using MRI and PET/CT imaging, revealing that most PICTs present with atypical signal characteristics and are difficult to detect. A multiparametric approach, including factors like lesion size and different sequence characteristics, is necessary for accurate PICT detection.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the diagnostic value of contrast-enhanced echocardiography (CEE) in benign and malignant cardiac tumors and detect the correlation of CEE parameters and immunohistochemistry (IHC) markers. The results showed that there were differences in TTE and CEE parameters between benign and malignant cardiac tumors. CEE was helpful in differentiating the properties of cardiac tumors, and there was a correlation between CEE parameters and IHC markers.

Summary: Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) has increased spatial resolution compared to other imaging modalities and is essential for evaluating gallbladder lesions and suspected gallbladder cancer. EUS-FNA can provide precise diagnoses and differentiate between benign and malignant conditions. Advancements in NGS technology allow for potential predictive genomic biomarkers to be identified for treatment response in gallbladder cancer.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to investigate whether the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) can be used as supplementary tools to differentiate between benign, borderline, and malignant ovarian tumors. The results showed that NLR and PLR were significantly higher in malignant ovarian tumors than in benign or borderline tumors, with no significant difference between benign and borderline tumors. High preoperative NLR and PLR may indicate a higher likelihood of epithelial ovarian cancer.

Summary: This study aimed to develop and validate a prediction model for differentiating between benign and malignant parotid gland tumors based on clinicoradiological data and CT-radiomics. The combination model incorporating rad-score and CT radiological features showed good performance in evaluating tumor malignancy, with location, lymph node status, and rad-score as independent predictors. The model demonstrated high accuracy, specificity, and sensitivity in both training and test sets.

Summary: Contrast-enhanced mammography (CEM) has become a widely used modality in breast imaging, showing high diagnostic performance in cancer detection. It is comparable to MRI in sensitivity with lower false positive rates. Familiarity with CEM and its implementation is of great clinical significance, as it can be used for screening dense breasts as well as staging known breast malignancies.

Summary: Chronic pancreatitis is characterized by the loss of exocrine pancreatic parenchyma and irregular fibrosis. Diagnosing CP objectively can be challenging due to insufficient standard criteria, but techniques like ultrasonography elastography can help assess tissue hardness. SE and shear wave elastography are specific diagnostic techniques used to measure tissue hardness, with different methods for interpreting SE images.

Summary: Endoscopic management for perihilar cholangiocarcinoma is evolving to improve diagnosis and drainage. Different imaging methods are used to determine resectability and optimal surgical planning, while new diagnostic imaging methods such as video peroral cholangioscopy and probe-based confocal laser endomicroscopy are being clinically applied. The approach to preoperative drainage has shifted to endoscopic nasobiliary drainage to reduce the risk of metastasis seeding. Various endoscopic techniques, including the use of self-expandable metallic stents and endoscopic ultrasonography-guided approach, are employed depending on the resectability and prognosis.

Summary: Pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC) can be treated with surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy. However, surgery is currently the only curative treatment, and early detection of smaller tumors is critical for better prognosis. Summary: The C5H7+ fragment ion derived from 3-methyl1,4-pentadiene (MPD) was investigated using an ion mobility/mass spectrometer. The reduced mobilities (K0) of the C5H7+ fragment ions generated by MPD and cyclohexene correlated with effective temperature in He buffer gas, indicating that these fragments were identical cyclopentenium cations. Density functional theory calculations revealed the feasibility of the dissociation of MPD to cyclopentenium cations.

Summary: This is a rare case of extramedullary plasmacytoma originating from the biliary tract, which is the fifth reported case. The patient presented with jaundice and a tumor was found in the gallbladder and bile ducts. Pathological examination confirmed the tumor to be a plasmacytoma. Despite endoscopic biliary drainage and chemotherapy, the tumor continued to grow and caused complications. Eventually, pancreaticoduodenectomy and cholecystectomy were performed, but the patient died seven months after the diagnosis due to the treatment-resistant tumor.
