Summary: HPV infection, commonly transmitted through direct contact of infected organs, is a prevalent sexually transmitted infection posing a high risk to young women, potentially leading to various malignancies. Recent studies have also shown harmful effects of HPV infection on pregnancy outcomes, including adverse conditions such as preterm birth, intrauterine growth restriction, and fetal death.

Summary: This study investigated the causes of infertility, appropriate ART treatment, and pregnancy outcomes in women with cystic fibrosis. The results showed that CF women had slightly lower antral follicle count, but there was no significant difference in the causes of infertility, the number of oocytes and embryos obtained, and pregnancy outcomes compared to non-CF women. In the absence of any other pathology, IUI may be the first option for CF women.

Summary: Obesity can negatively impact natural fertility in both men and women, as well as pregnancy chances. Lifestyle intervention is recommended as the first-line treatment for obesity, with or without medical treatments. Investigating the effects of lifestyle intervention on reproductive outcomes is crucial.

Summary: Paternal health, especially cardiovascular and metabolic health, is positively associated with the risk of pregnancy loss. Factors such as paternal age and somatic health also play a role in this association, while the impact of diabetes on pregnancy loss may be less significant. Further research is needed to provide more conclusive evidence on the relationship between paternal health and pregnancy loss.

Summary: The study evaluated the potential antitumor activity of tomentosin on human RPMI-8226 cells by increasing tomentosin concentration for cytotoxicity screening. Results showed that tomentosin may explain its antiproliferative effects through cell cycle arrest and apoptosis, leading to inhibition of cell viability in RPMI-8226 cells.

Summary: The sesquiterpene lactone tomentosin extracted from I. viscosa has shown promising anti-tumor properties in therapeutic oncologic fields. This study demonstrates that tomentosin exerts its antiproliferative effects through cell cycle arrest and induction of cell apoptosis in Burkitt's lymphoma cells. The microarray gene expression analysis revealed 75 deregulated genes, with downregulated genes enriched in pathways favoring proliferation, and upregulated genes related to cellular death, particularly apoptosis. Overall, tomentosin shows potential as a natural product with limited toxicity and significant anti-tumoral activity for BL patients.

Summary: The effects of BET inhibitor JQ1 on the viability of RMS cells were evaluated in this study. It was found that the drug sensitivity of RMS cell lines to JQ1 was directly proportional to the expression of MYC. JQ1 induced G1 arrest in cells with high steady-state levels of MYC, and apoptosis was associated with MYC downregulation. These findings suggest that BET inhibition could be an effective strategy for the treatment of RMS.

Summary: This study evaluated the immunomodulatory effects of MIM-seq on human macrophages and its potential anti-tumor properties against colorectal cancer (CRC). The results showed that MIM-seq inhibited pro-inflammatory cytokine secretion and displayed anti-proliferative effects on tumor cells. When combined with other anti-cancer agents, MIM-seq further reduced tumor growth, suggesting its potential as an adjuvant therapy for CRC patients.
