Summary: We developed a three-step protocol called QGA to analyze transcribed interviews using family systems theory, visualize family systems relational concepts in genograms, and identify common patterns of family dynamics. This innovative use of genograms allows researchers to theorize family systems in innovative ways and go beyond examining each family relationship as a variable to look at relationship dynamics systemically and wholistically across families.

Summary: The paper proposes a reconstructed notion of objective qualitative data sets, arguing that objectivity depends on the combination of the data set with true assumptions and a set of good-making features. The author rejects two possible objections to this ideal and suggests that the objectivity of a qualitative data set should be seen in terms of how it was generated or evaluated.
