Summary: In this study, an emulsion-filled gel system was constructed by filling rice bran oil bodies (RBOBs) with flaxseed gum (FG). The addition of FG improved the dispersibility and stability of RBOB droplets. The major driving forces in the formation of the gel-like structure were hydrogen bonds and intermolecular forces. The emulsion-filled gels exhibited improved rheological properties and lower friction coefficients.

Summary: This study investigated the impact of nanoparticles on increasing thermal energy storage to minimize cooling effects on drilling fluid rheological properties, aiming to address issues in deepwater oil and gas drilling. By developing hybrid nanoparticles assembly and characterizing the synthesized materials, it was demonstrated that the nanoparticles provided efficient rheological control for designing water-based drilling fluids for low temperature environments.

Summary: By studying the rheological properties of UF-WFPE under continuous deformation, a modified plug flow model was proposed to explain the rheological behavior of UF-WFPE melt. The study found that specimens with 70 wt%, 75 wt%, and 80 wt% WF displayed a stable rheological behavior period during compression, while those with 90 wt% WF entered a continuous fracture stage, lacking a stable rheological behavior period.

Summary: The study found that the rheological and textural properties of ERS-EFG can be regulated by controlling the parameters of starch DE, starch concentration, and emulsion content. Starch content in the gel matrix directly affected the properties of ERS-EFG, with the addition of starch improving freeze-thaw stability and firmness, while the addition of emulsion droplets diluted starch concentration. Both ERS-EFGs and NRS-EFG exhibited good thixotropic recovery.

Summary: It has been found that the mechanical properties of thermoplastic semi-crystalline polyimides can be enhanced by a strong structural ordering near single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs). In this study, a comparative analysis of computer simulations and experimental measurements was performed to investigate the rheological properties of nanocomposites based on thermoplastic semi-crystalline polyimide R-BAPB synthesized with SWCNTs. The results show that the viscosity of SWCNT-filled R-BAPB increases in the melt state due to the structural ordering near SWCNTs. Additionally, the orientation of polyimide chains near the SWCNT surface leads to anisotropic rheological properties and improved mechanical characteristics of the nanocomposites in the glassy state.

Summary: The study prepared a water-soluble bacterial cellulose sulfate using sulfur trioxide pyridine complex and bacterial cellulose, which exhibited shear thinning behavior and temperature-sensitive weak elastic gel characteristics based on rheological properties. The modified bacterial cellulose existed in linear polymer form in aqueous solution and could potentially be used as a renewable material in the field of biological tissue engineering.

Summary: This paper presents an experimental strategy for characterizing the rheological behavior of filled, uncured rubber compounds, using oscillatory shear experiments and a phenomenological thixotropy model. The authors compare kinetic equations for a structure parameter to determine the dynamic thixotropic behavior of the material. They aim to keep the models simple and straightforward for maximum applicability.

Summary: In this study, aluminum dross powders were incorporated into polyoxymethylene to develop value-added products and create an alternative utilization method for industrial waste. The morphological analyses showed various inorganic components in the aluminum dross and no significant structural incompatibility with polyoxymethylene. The addition of aluminum dross improved the mechanical properties and crystallization behavior of the composite samples.

Summary: Iron oxide nanoparticles with a mean size of approximately 5 nm were synthesized using energetic electrons to irradiate micro-emulsions containing iron salts. The properties of the nanoparticles were investigated using various techniques, revealing that the formation of superparamagnetic nanoparticles starts at a dose of 50 kGy. The particles tend to form clusters and show increasing crystallinity and yield with increasing doses.

Summary: The adaptation of liquid diets for dysphagia patients requires precise and individual adjustments based on viscosity. This study investigated viscosity variations of different concentrations of water and the time evolution of three types of commercial thickeners (starch, starch with gums, gum-based). The findings showed that the viscosity of gum-based thickeners increases linearly with increasing water concentration but does not reach pudding-like texture. On the other hand, starch-based thickeners (alone or combined with gums) rapidly reach very thick textures. The study also modeled the viscosity of the four thickeners at different concentrations and analyzed viscosity changes after 6 hours of preparation. Gum-based thickeners had predictable linear behavior, reaching nectar and honey-like textures with less thickener, and remained stable over time. In contrast, starch-based thickeners exhibited exponential behavior, reaching pudding-like viscosity and being unstable over time.

Summary: The study investigates the role of gelation temperature in the rheological properties and microstructure of starch-based emulsion-filled gel. It is found that the gel maintains high elasticity across the gelation temperature range. The structure of intact starch granules and/or starch molecules in the gel system varies with temperature, influencing the interfacial structure and gel matrix. Moreover, the resistance of the emulsion-filled gel to large deformation increases with temperature, indicating a more stretchable structure.

Summary: The study reveals that the spontaneous emulsions produced by dilution with water can be stable over days even without surfactants, polymers, or particles. The Ouzo effect, obtained by rapid dilution from an identified pre-Ouzo domain, involves weak aggregates and a surface layer enriched in a hydrotrope. Investigations show that when the emulsion is stable, coexisting phases are ternary solutions structured at the nanometer scale.
