Summary: The study aimed to define the perspective from which a coach should analyze and evaluate personality traits influencing sports performance in team sports. Champions in team sports were found to have lower neuroticism, higher extraversion, and openness to experiences compared to other sportsmen, with personality traits distribution levels depending on the sport discipline. Summary: Research has shown that Etic psychometric tools work less well in non-Western cultures compared to Western cultures, while data collected online in the former societies tend to be of superior quality to those from face-to-face interviews. This poses a challenge to understanding the universality of models of personality and other constructs. The study explored adapting a short Big Five tool to Mongolian culture, and found that the Big Five and Big Two models were recovered satisfactorily in a nationally representative sample of Mongolians.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the factor structure, reliability, validity, and measurement invariance of the Japanese version of the Big Five Inventory-2 (BFI-2-J). Results indicated that the BFI-2-J has a similar structure to other language versions, sufficient reliability, and supported convergent and discriminant validity. Measurement invariance was confirmed across age and sex groups. The BFI-2-J is considered a good instrument for measuring Big Five personality traits in Japan and for international comparative research.

Summary: This paper presents pioneering evidence for a significant positive effect of perfectionistic strivings on sport performance in distance running. Perfectionistic strivings not only significantly predicted the results of the run, but also moderated the association between anticipated and actual performance, being markedly stronger among perfectionistic individuals. Additionally, the effects remained significant after controlling for Big Five personality traits, indicating that they cannot solely be attributed to perfectionists' elevated conscientiousness.
