Summary: This study investigated the predictive value of quantitative metabolic tumor volume and metabolic index analysis in lung cancer stereotactic radiotherapy using F-18 FDG PET/CT. The results showed that a decrease in gross tumor volume (GTV) and pretreatment SUVmean correlated with survival. Patients with peripheral tumors had lower mortality rates and higher BED10 values.

Summary: This study validated the clinical applicability of a deep learning multimodality esophageal GTV contouring model, which was developed at one institution and tested at multiple institutions. The model, utilizing a two-streamed deep learning approach, demonstrated flexibility in segmenting GTV using pCT alone or pCT+PET/CT combined. The performance of the model was compared against human experts and radiation oncologists, showing promising results in contouring accuracy and efficiency.

Summary: This study investigated the potential benefits of FDG PET radiomic feature maps (RFMs) for target delineation in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) radiotherapy. Thirty-two NSCLC patients were included and nine grey-level co-occurrence matrix (GLCM) RFMs were generated for each patient. The results showed that RFMs, specifically entropy, contrast, and Haralick correlation, were useful for tumor segmentation. Linear regression analysis demonstrated positive correlations between the gold standard and RFM-derived target volumes. These findings suggest that FDG PET-based radiomics features have promising potential for decision support in radiotherapy for NSCLC, aiding in accurate tumor delineation and segmentation of heterogeneous tumor regions.

Summary: This study aimed to assess the accuracy of C-11-choline PET/CT in determining T staging and tumor volume delineation for NPC patients. The results showed that C-11-choline PET/CT was more accurate than F-18-FDG PET/CT in assessing tumor extension and tumor volume, and could be a promising complement to MRI.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to develop a radiogenomic model using F-18-FDG PET/CT radiomics and clinical-parameter EGFR to predict PFS stratification in lung cancer patients after SBRT treatment. The results showed that the radiogenomic model had good accuracy and clinical value in predicting PFS stratification.

Summary: Diagnosing relapse after radiotherapy for lung cancer is challenging. While F-18-FLT PET/CT demonstrated higher specificity for malignancy than F-18-FDG PET, the sensitivity was lower. The addition of F-18-FLT PET/CT improved diagnostic value, particularly after conventional fractionated radiotherapy.

Summary: Hibernomas are rare benign tumors originating from fetal brown adipose tissue. They can occur in various parts of the body, with thigh, shoulder, back, and neck being the most common locations, and are rarely found in the abdominal cavity, retroperitoneum, breast, bones, scrotum, and perirectum. We present a case of a 58-year-old woman with a mediastinal mass, who was incidentally found to have an FDG-avid fat-containing lesion in the omentum abutting the stomach.

Summary: This study aimed to improve the statistical power in detecting changes in brain glucose metabolism, amyloid, and tau deposition in Alzheimer's disease studies by using a reference tissue-based quantification approach. The results showed that the tracer-specific reference tissue improved the detection of PET SUVR changes, which is beneficial for early diagnosis, disease progression monitoring, and therapeutic response in Alzheimer's disease.

Summary: Threshold-based contouring using SOSTs trained with GTV(majority) achieved accuracy comparable to manual contours in delineating GTV(histo). Median SOSTs were found to be 41 SUV% for 68Ga-PSMA-11 PET and 44 SUV% for 18F-PSMA-1007 PET, forming a basis for tracer-specific window leveling.

Summary: This study aimed to examine brain metabolic patterns on [F-18]Fluorodeoxyglucose ([F-18]FDG) positron emission tomography (PET) in breast cancer (BC), comparing patients with tension-type headache (TTH), migraine (MiG), and those without headache. The results showed that headache patients exhibited hypometabolism in specific brain regions before neoadjuvant chemotherapy (NAC) and headache patients with a good response to NAC showed hypermetabolic brain regions in the anterior medial frontal cortex.

Summary: This study investigates the use of F-18-fluorodeoxyglucose (F-18-FDG)-positron emission tomography/computed tomography (PET/CT) as a predictor for lung cancer patients' response to hypofractionated radiotherapy (HFRT) combined with programmed cell death-1 (PD-1) blockade. A retrospective study was conducted on 41 patients with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). PET/CT scans were performed before and after treatment, and treatment responses were evaluated. The study found that new visceral/bone lesions during treatment were related to prognosis and overall survival (OS), and a nomogram was generated to predict patient survival.

Summary: F-18-FDG PET-CT is commonly used for the initial staging of various cancers. This study found a significant association between F-18-FDG uptake in the brain and initial weight loss in patients with esophageal cancer, providing new insights for the diagnosis and treatment of anorexia in cancer patients.
