Summary: This study systematically investigates the influence of production assumptions on environmental efficiency and technology inequality measurements. Through the application of DEA models, the study measures the environmental efficiency and technology inequality of Chinese cities and finds that disposability and returns to scale have significant effects on environmental efficiency and disposability affects technology inequality measurement. The study suggests that Chinese cities should take measures to improve efficiency and mitigate technology inequality based on these findings.

Summary: Environmental performance is essential for sustainable development, and the use of incremental information technology to collect environmental data has become more widespread. This study introduces a new environmental efficiency measure that considers the alliances among decision-making units (DMUs) and applies it to the Xiangjiang River. The findings suggest that cities along the Xiangjiang River have generally low environmental efficiency, with Chenzhou performing the best and Xiangtan performing the worst. The study also reveals that increasing public budgetary expenditure can improve environmental efficiency, and larger alliance sizes are associated with higher environmental efficiency.

Summary: This paper constructs four DEA models to handle streaming data combined with traditional statistical data considering undesirable output, using classic ways of transforming streaming data and LASSO regression. An empirical study shows the dimension reduction results of big data and the difference in efficiency scores obtained based on them. A robustness analysis illustrates how the number of variables influences the efficiency result. The models are used to calculate the environmental efficiency of 252 Chinese cities in 2020, considering statistical data and daily air quality index data, and the efficiency results show a link between efficiency and city size.

Summary: Bio-based polymers have emerged as a promising alternative to petroleum-based polymers in various industries. Although they have desirable properties such as biodegradability and non-toxicity, their performance still falls short of end-use requirements. Incorporating nanosized reinforcement can greatly improve the properties and commercial potential of bio-polymers. Bio-based polymers can serve as a substitute for petroleum-based fibers, and the application of smart nanoparticles is size-dependent.
