Wet removal of NO and SO2 from simulated coal-fired flue gas with a UV/H2O2 advanced oxidation process was studied in an ultraviolet (UV)-bubble column reactor. The effects of several factors, including the NO initial concentration, SO2 initial concentration, UV radiation intensity, liquid gas ratio, H2O2 initial concentration, and O-2 content, on NO and SO2 removal efficiencies were studied. The results showed that under all conditions, SO2 could achieve 100% removal. The NO removal efficiency decreased with the increase of NO initial concentration or SO2 initial concentration. With the increase of UV irradiation intensity, liquid-gas ratio, or H2O2 initial concentration, the NO removal efficiency increased. The O-2 content only had a little impact on NO removal.
