Summary: Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is an evolutionary algorithm for solving global optimization problems. A mixed strategy PSO algorithm (MSPSO) which integrates five different PSO variants was proposed. The algorithm utilizes an adaptive selection strategy to adjust the probability of selecting different variants based on the rate of fitness value change. To enhance the algorithm's exploitation ability, a Nelder-Mead variant method is also introduced.

Summary: This paper proposes a fast-charging strategy for lithium-ion batteries based on an intelligent optimization algorithm with multi-physics constraints. The strategy is developed using a thermoelectric coupling model and a battery degradation model. An improved particle swarm optimization algorithm is used to calculate the optimal charging strategy, and two charging strategies with different optimization objectives are developed based on the Pareto boundary. Simulation results show that the proposed multistage constant-current (MCC) charging strategy can effectively adjust the charging current and improve charging speed while reducing capacity and energy loss compared to the traditional constant current-constant voltage (CCCV) charging strategy of 2C.

Summary: This paper firstly uses Monte Carlo simulation to study the disorderly charging behavior of electric vehicles (EVs), and presents an improved particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm to model the orderly charging strategy. By adjusting the inertia weight index and learning factor, the problems of poor local optimization ability and premature convergence of the original PSO are alleviated. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed orderly charging strategy can significantly reduce charging costs and peak-valley differences.
