Summary: The influence of sol composition, water content, selected alcohols, deflocculant, and acid on the photocatalytic properties of TiO2 powders obtained by the sol-gel method was investigated. It was found that TiO2 powders containing two polymorphs exhibited superior photocatalytic properties compared to single-phase powders with anatase.

Summary: This study presents a method for fabricating flexible ITO/Y2O3/Ag RRAM devices using a thermal-energy-free UV/ozone-assisted photochemical annealing process. The process eliminates organic residue and produces thinner and smoother Y2O3 films compared to other methods. The fabricated devices exhibit conventional bipolar RRAM properties, reduced leakage current, and increased high-resistance status.

Summary: DOPO-ETES and DOPO-AmdPTES were synthesized as halogen-free flame retardants without by-products. They were applied on cotton fabric using sol-gel method and pad-dry-cure finishing process. DOPO-AmdPTES-treated cotton exhibited self-extinguishing behavior with high char residue, improved LOI value and reduced PHRR, HRC and THR compared to untreated cotton. DOPO-AmdPTES-treated cotton showed semi-durability after ten laundering cycles. According to the results, the flame retardant activity occurred in the condensed phase as a physical barrier and in the gas phase through dilution effect.

Summary: This study investigates the potential of using dual alkoxysilane precursor chemistry for depositing antireflection thin films on glass. The results show that the dual precursor chemistry can produce coatings with high mechanical and chemical resistance, while maintaining their antireflective properties during industrial tempering processes. The study also demonstrates that the laboratory dip coating process can be scaled up to a roller coating process for commercial solar modules and patterned glasses.

Summary: In this study, ZnO nanostructured thin films-based UV detectors were developed using a cost-effective sol-gel spin coating method. It was found that the UV detection performance and optical properties of the films can be significantly altered by adjusting the grain size and rpm. The prepared films also exhibit high optical transmittance in the visible region of the solar spectrum, providing a promising approach for improving the performance of ZnO nanostructures-based optoelectronic devices.

Summary: Current methods for functional coatings hardening involve high temperatures, energy consumption, or long time periods, leading to slower and costly production. This research introduces a simple and low-cost approach for functionalizing low-cost stainless steel, using sol-gel coatings cured under UV light without high thermal hardening processes. The solution exhibits high chemical and thermal stability, making it adaptable to sensitive materials, such as plastics, and offers lower processing costs and faster hardening rates with appropriate lamps. The scalability of this method allows continuous coating in large areas at mild processing conditions.

Summary: Lu2Si2O7:Eu3+ thin films were prepared using sol-gel methods and dip coating, and exhibited a monoclinic structure with preferential orientation along a specific direction after heat treatment. The films showed strong emission from Eu3+ ions, with the optical yield and decay time increasing with the SiO2 content.
