Summary: ASPD and ASB have significant impacts on individuals, their environment, and society, with no evidence-based treatments currently available. Contradictory research findings on therapy effectiveness and underlying factors of ASB further fuel the debate on the accuracy of the conceptualization of ASPD and the homogeneity of this population.

Summary: The study found that the basic prosocial trait of Honesty-Humility can differentiate between criminal offenders and the general population, but it does not predict the frequency and type of crimes leading to imprisonment. Among criminal offenders, Honesty-Humility negatively predicts violent behavior, but does not significantly relate to non-violent antisocial behavior.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to explore the relationship between personality traits and verbal or physical aggression in Vietnamese adolescents. The findings indicated a significant interaction between personality traits, specifically extraversion and neuroticism, and physical aggression, verbal aggression, and anger. Gender and school year also influenced personality traits. Importantly, physical and verbal aggression mediated the relationship between personality traits and aggressive behavior.

Summary: The study identified an association between the serotonin transporter gene SLC6A4 HTTLPR polymorphism and criminal aggression in Pakistani prisoners, with the L/L and L-A/L-A genotypes being linked to higher aggression scores. Functional effects were demonstrated for the rs25531 polymorphism in HTTLPR and other serotonergic polymorphisms in different brain regions and peripheral tissues. Further research is needed to replicate and understand the biological mechanisms underlying this relationship.

Summary: The percentage of female forensic psychiatric patients varies across different countries, with fewer women exhibiting antisocial and aggressive behavior compared to men. However, longitudinal studies have shown that a small group of females display stable aggressive and antisocial behavior from childhood into adulthood, despite a low conviction rate. This article reviews descriptive studies of female forensic patients and presents evidence that most female aggressive and antisocial behavior does not lead to criminal prosecution. It also explores the presentation of schizophrenia and borderline personality disorder in female forensic patients and provides recommendations for early identification and treatment of mental disorders and aggressive behavior. The article concludes by discussing the potential for prevention of aggressive behavior and aspects of mental disorders in female forensic patients.

Summary: This study examined neural sensitivity to loss anticipation and receipt among youth with DBD, finding no significant differences in brain activity across groups. The results suggest that differences in punishment sensitivity among youth with DBD are unrelated to loss anticipation or receipt.

Summary: This study reports on the third generation randomized field trial of the Good Behavior Game (GBG) in Baltimore elementary schools. The results show that GBG has a significant impact on reducing aggressive behavior in first-grade classrooms, especially in classrooms with higher quality implementation. There was also a modest but significant benefit for female students in low aggression class.

Summary: This study investigates the concurrent associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACE), aggressive antisocial behavior (AAB), and difficulties in emotion regulation among forensic psychiatric inpatients. The results suggest that deficits in emotion regulation may be an important target for reducing AAB in this population. However, the evidence for significant indirect effects is limited and inconsistent.

Summary: This study investigated the associations between adverse childhood experiences (ACE), aggressive antisocial behavior (AAB), and disinhibition in a forensic psychiatric sample. The results showed moderate to strong correlations among these variables. However, ACE did not have a moderating effect on the association between disinhibition and AAB. The findings highlight the high levels of ACE in forensic psychiatric populations and the importance of considering ACE in trauma-informed care, risk assessment, preventive work, and policy making.
