Summary: This study proposed a vascular geometric model based on contrast-enhanced CT and MRI for diagnosing clinically significant portal hypertension (HVPG >= 10 mm Hg) in patients with liver cirrhosis. The model utilized various vascular parameters extracted from different blood vessels to identify CSPH. The proposed vascular model showed good diagnostic consistency in both internal and external tests.

Summary: This retrospective multicenter study evaluated the accuracy of transient elastography (TE-LSM) in discriminating between Porto-sinusoidal vascular liver disease (PSVD) and cirrhosis in patients with signs of portal hypertension. The study found that TE-LSM < 10 kPa strongly suggests PSVD, while PSVD is highly unlikely when TE-LSM is >20 kPa in patients with signs of portal hypertension.

Summary: This study suggests that von Willebrand factor antigen (vWFAg) can be used as a marker for the severity of portal hypertension. When combined with liver and spleen stiffness measurements, vWFAg has increased predictive value for clinically significant varices and variceal bleeding. The combination of liver and spleen stiffness measurements with vWFAg could assist clinicians in diagnosing and preventing unnecessary invasive procedures.

Summary: This study found that low-keV VMI+ reconstructions significantly improved the diagnostic performance for the detection of portal vein thrombosis compared to other DECT reconstruction algorithms. The 40 keV VMI+ series showed the best objective image quality and diagnostic accuracy for the diagnosis of PVT.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the prognostic value of tumor-to-parenchymal contrast enhancement ratio on portal venous-phase CT (CER on PVP) in pancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasms (PanNENs) and compare its predictive performance with current grading and staging systems. The results showed that CER on PVP had superior predictive performance on postoperative survival compared to the current grading and staging systems, suggesting its potential as a noninvasive preoperative prognostic tool.

Summary: Gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding is a common and potentially life-threatening medical condition that often requires multidisciplinary collaboration for proper diagnosis and management. CT imaging plays a vital role in identifying the location and cause of bleeding, but interpreting CT scans in patients with GI bleeding can be challenging for radiologists.

Summary: This study evaluated the diagnostic performance of biochemical tests compared to elastography-based approaches for ruling out high risk oesophageal varices (HRV). The results showed that PLT and FIB-4 were the best performing biochemical tests for ruling out HRV, but they were still outperformed by elastography-based approaches.

Summary: This study evaluated the severity of portal hypertension (PHT) through hepatic ultrasonography by analyzing the acoustic structure quantification (ASQ) parameters. The results showed significant correlations between ASQ parameters and the presence of PHT as well as liver function. The ASQ analysis may have an important role in assessing the severity of PHT.

Summary: The study indicates that splenic hemodynamic parameters measured using low-dose perfusion CT can be used to noninvasively evaluate the severity of esophageal varices in cirrhotic patients. Patients with EV showed higher PS, V-S, and BV-S, while lower BV and BF compared to the control group.

Summary: Low keV images generated from a PVP DECT acquisition enable the creation of a twin-phase pancreatic protocol CT with comparable diagnostic accuracy for detecting PDAC, with a significant reduction in radiation dose. Reduced radiation dose is desirable in surveillance and screening for pancreatic diseases.

Summary: The study developed a radiomics model based on CT images to differentiate between MIAs and IAs in pGGNs larger than 10 mm, with superior performance compared to a standard CT model. The radiomics model could be useful for clinicians in diagnosis and treatment selection.

Summary: Capsule endoscopy is a non-invasive and well-tolerated method for examining the entire gastrointestinal tract. It has the potential to provide a comprehensive examination of the small bowel. In routine clinical practice, the diagnostic sensitivity of colon capsule is comparable to colonoscopy.

Summary: The study discusses the successful management of irritable bowel syndrome patients with Gelsectan in clinical practice. It shows that Gelsectan is effective and safe in improving symptoms and bowel habits associated with irritable bowel syndrome, with confirmed long-term efficacy and safety. Agents like Gelsectan, with film-forming protective properties, offer a new alternative therapeutic option for patients with irritable bowel syndrome.
