XPS, EPR and NMR studies of the ozone-treated nanodiamond (NDO) are presented. Based on the spectra, the nature of the surface chemical functional groups, which were formed as a result of the ozone reaction with the pristine DND surface in the soot, is discussed. Published by Elsevier B.V.
