Summary: This study aimed to examine the dose-dependent effects of blackcurrant supplementation on preventing bone loss in adult women. The results showed that blackcurrant supplementation decreased the loss of whole-body bone mineral density and increased the marker of bone formation, P1NP. Further studies with larger samples and different skeletal conditions are needed to confirm these findings.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of metronidazole in patients with gastrointestinal symptoms caused by Blastocystis sp. and determine if Blastocystis subtype or concomitant parasitic infection influenced treatment outcomes. The results showed that metronidazole was not superior to placebo in improving gastrointestinal symptoms, regardless of Blastocystis subtype or microscopically undetected coinfection with other protozoa.

Summary: Intralymphatic administration of GAD-alum combined with vitamin D supplementation did not meet the primary endpoint in all patients with T1D, but showed greater preservation of C-peptide in patients with the HLA DR3-DQ2 genotype. This treatment was well-tolerated and may be considered a disease-modifying approach for T1D patients with the specific genetic background.

Summary: In patients with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), the use of licogliflozin led to reductions in serum alanine aminotransferase levels, suggesting it could be a potential therapeutic option. However, further studies are needed to validate these findings and evaluate its combination with other drugs.

Summary: Among chronic lithium users with NDI, 20 mg/d atorvastatin did not significantly improve urinary osmolality compared to placebo after a 12-week period. Larger confirmatory trials with longer follow-up periods are needed to further assess the effects of statins on NDI.
