Summary: This study investigated the perfusion variances of bilateral amygdala in migraine patients. The results showed increased cerebral blood flow and arterial cerebral blood volume in the left amygdala of chronic migraine patients. The increased perfusion parameters of bilateral amygdala were positively correlated with MIDAS score in chronic migraine patients.

Summary: Microglia, the only immune cells resident in the brain, play crucial roles in maintaining neural circuitry by modifying synapses and neuronal excitability, with functional heterogeneity observed in different brain regions. A new method enables chronic observation of microglia in the hippocampal CA1, allowing analysis of morphological changes over time.

Summary: This study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of acupuncture for chronic tension-type headache (CTTH) through a randomized controlled trial. The results showed that the responder rate at both 16 weeks and 32 weeks of follow-up was significantly higher in the true acupuncture (TA) group compared to the superficial acupuncture (SA) group. Additionally, the reduction in the number of headache days was greater in the TA group. Only a few mild adverse events were reported in the TA group.

Summary: This multicentric prospective real-life study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of long-term use with onabotulinumtoxinA in chronic migraine prophylaxis. The study found that chronic migraine patients treated with onaBT-A had significant improvement and good safety in both the first and second year of treatment.

Summary: This study aims to evaluate the value of remote health parameter measurement technology in clinical settings by comparing remote measurements of HR, RR, and SpO(2) with contact measurements in 1045 patients requiring pulmonary function tests. Personal information of patients will be collected, and the accuracy and precision of remote health parameter measurement technology will be assessed using intraclass correlation coefficient analysis.

Summary: This study found no aggregation of chronic migraine in families with a clustering of migraine. No specific rare variants gave rise to migraine chronification, suggesting that migraine chronification is caused by environmental factors rather than genetic factors. Chronic migraine was not associated with a higher polygenic risk score.

Summary: Patients with chronic migraine and co-occurring pain conditions have significantly worse pain-related physical function, psychosocial functioning, increased health-care utilization, and greater association with adverse life experiences compared with those with localized CM. This study further evidences that these patients are a distinct subgroup of CM and can be easily identified through patient-reported outcome measures.

Summary: Long-lived tree species like poplars need to defend against changing environments and pathogens throughout their lifetime. Poplars have developed different defense strategies against necrotrophic and biotrophic fungi, including constitutive and induced defenses, recognition of fungi through receptor and resistance proteins, and the production of protective compounds. This paper reviews current research on poplar defensive responses to fungi, covering physiological and genetic aspects, as well as the role of noncoding RNA in fungal resistance. The review also offers strategies for enhancing poplar disease resistance and suggests future research directions.

Summary: OnabotulinumtoxinA (BT-A) is a drug used for preventive treatment of chronic migraine. Its exact mechanism of action is still debated, but it is known to inhibit the release of inflammatory mediators and reduce activation of nerve fibers. Clinical trials have shown its efficacy, and recent findings have improved understanding of its pharmacological actions. This review summarizes the available data on BT-A and discusses its role in chronic migraine treatment.

Summary: Inadequate nutrient intakes, such as low carbohydrate and calcium intakes, are associated with higher fat mass. High sucrose and sodium intakes are associated with elevated levels of BDNF. Adequate carbohydrate intake after exercise promotes higher levels of myostatin and musclin, while inadequate intakes lead to lower levels of IL-15 and BDNF. High cholesterol and low fiber intakes are associated with lower levels of irisin and apelin.

Summary: This study demonstrated the chronic exposure toxicity of the insecticide indoxacarb on adult zebrafish liver using metabolomics and mass spectrometry imaging (MSI) methods. The results showed that indoxacarb exposure affected the movement behaviors of zebrafish and increased the activities of certain enzymes in the liver. Pathological analysis revealed cavitation and pathological reactions in the liver. Metabolomics and MSI results indicated that indoxacarb significantly affected metabolic pathways in the zebrafish liver. These findings highlight the disturbance of metabolic pathways as the mechanism behind the toxicity of indoxacarb.

Summary: Chronic migraine is a significant public health problem affecting 2.2% of the global population. Onabotulinumtoxin A (OnabotA) is a safe and effective prophylactic treatment for chronic migraine patients. However, some patients experience a wearing-off effect (WOE) in the weeks before the next scheduled cycle. This study aims to determine the prevalence of early WOE, analyze clinical predictors, and identify the most appropriate interval to define this phenomenon.
