Summary: The study evaluated the efficacy and safety of nab-sirolimus in patients with malignant PEComa, showing an overall response rate of 39% with rapid and durable responses. Patients with TSC2 mutations were more likely to achieve a positive response. nab-sirolimus was considered an important new treatment option for this disease based on response rate, disease control, and safety profile.

Summary: This review summarizes current diagnostic strategies and challenges in distinguishing benign from malignant adrenal lesions. It focuses on radiological and biochemical assessments for preoperative diagnosis, and histopathological and molecular assessments postoperatively. New non-invasive strategies such as liquid biopsies are also discussed for their potential in diagnosing Adrenocortical carcinoma.

Summary: Accurate classification of melanocytic tumors is crucial for patients' treatment and prognostic evaluation. Research shows that there are distinct genetic and epigenetic characteristics between Spitz nevi, nevi, and melanomas. Combined genetic and methylation assays can provide additional insights in diagnosing difficult to classify Spitzoid tumors.

Summary: The relationship between coagulation and fibrinolysis in malignant tumors is well-known, and in soft tissue sarcoma (STS) patients, levels of D-dimer, plasmin-alpha 2 plasmin inhibitor complex, and soluble fibrin were significantly higher than in benign tumors. A plasmin-alpha 2 plasmin inhibitor complex level of >= 0.80 was found to be the most suitable marker for predicting STS.

Summary: This study developed a radiomics nomogram using machine learning models to distinguish between benign and malignant round-like solid tumors. The nomogram achieved high accuracy and sensitivity in detecting malignancy, making it a noninvasive and cost-efficient presurgical prediction technique.

Summary: The study developed a classifier incorporating five proteins from urine samples that effectively distinguished between benign and malignant ovarian tumors. The classifier showed high AUC values of 0.970 and 0.952 in test and validation datasets, and accurately diagnosed early-stage malignancies in 7, 6, and 4 patients based on the classifier, serum CA125, and serum HE4, respectively.

Summary: This study evaluated the ability of a preoperative contrast-enhanced CT (CECT)-based radiomics nomogram to differentiate between benign and malignant primary retroperitoneal tumors (PRT). Using machine learning algorithms and clinical data, a predictive model was developed that incorporated facial features, clinical data, and radiomics features to determine the nature of the tumor. The results of the study showed that the radiomics predictive model had high accuracy and clinical value in differentiating between benign and malignant PRT.

Summary: The study aims to establish a multimodal ultrasound fusion network (MUF-Net) model for automatically classifying benign and malignant solid renal tumors, and compare its performance with radiologists' assessments. Results showed that the MUF-Net model achieved better performance than senior radiologists.

Summary: This study investigates the value of machine learning models based on clinical-radiological features and multiphasic CT radiomics features in differentiating benign parotid tumors (BPTs) and malignant parotid tumors (MPTs). The results suggest that machine learning models based on clinical-radiological features and radiomics features have the potential to provide a valuable tool for discriminating these two types of tumors.

Summary: This study evaluated the expression of angiogenesis-related factors in adrenal cortical tumors and aimed to explore their potential as biomarkers for improving the diagnosis and prognosis prediction of adrenocortical carcinoma. The results showed significantly higher expression of Ang1 and Ang2 in ACC and higher Tie1 expression was associated with venous invasion and shorter overall survival.

Summary: In this study, group penalized logistic regressions were used to enhance the accuracy of ovarian cancer diagnosis. By dividing patients into two sets and utilizing specific algorithms and cross validation, it was found that group penalized logistic regressions outperformed other machine learning and deep learning methods in terms of accuracy, F1-score, and AUC.
