Summary: Bis-argentivorous molecules containing phenyl and 4,4'-biphenyl groups as linkers were prepared to form complexes with Ag+ in different ratios. X-ray crystallography revealed the formation of intramolecular racemic structures in the silver(I) complexes. Dynamic H-1 NMR studies indicated restricted rotation of the side arms due to their shortness.

Summary: By introducing short dimethylsiloxane chains, the crystalline state of CBP can be suppressed, leading to different types of organization, including a soft crystal, a fluid liquid crystal mesophase, and a liquid state. X-ray scattering analysis shows that all organizations exhibit a layered configuration with alternating CBP cores and siloxane. The different organizations of CBP primarily differ in their molecular packing regularity, which modifies the interactions between neighboring conjugated cores. Consequently, the thin film absorption and emission properties of the materials vary, correlating with their chemical architectures and molecular organizations.

Summary: Nanofibers present challenges to modern material science, and the combination of organic and inorganic components in the form of hybrid nanofibers is an area that has yet to be fully explored. This study presents a patented process for preparing the first purely hybrid organic-inorganic organosilane nanofibers, which exhibit unique properties due to the strong covalent bonds between silicon and carbon. These nanofibers were successfully prepared without the use of additives commonly employed in the preparation of other types of nanofibers.

Summary: In this study, the absorption spectra of CBP in gas and condensed phases were simulated using the TD-LC-DFTB method. The accuracy of the computed spectra was verified by comparing with experimental results. Static and dynamic disorders play a crucial role in accurately calculating absorption spectra, and a reasonable structural model is important for representing these disorders.

Summary: A zinc-based metal organic framework (MOF) [Zn(LBIX)(HEA)](n) (1) was synthesized using hydrothermal synthesis method with 4,4'-bis((1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl)-1,1'-biphenyl (LBIX) and 1,2-phenylenediacetic acid (H(2)HEA) as ligands. The structure of the MOF was characterized using X-ray diffraction, elemental analysis, infrared spectroscopy, and thermogravimetric analysis. The fluorescence experiments demonstrated that the MOF exhibited strong fluorescence in aqueous solution and could be used for rapid identification of Fe3+, CrO42-, and Cr2O72- ions with high quenching efficiencies and low detection limits.

Summary: Through non-contact atomic force microscopy measurements, it was found that hydrated alkali metal cations can form one-dimensional chain structures at charged surfaces through partial dehydration and water rearrangement processes. The interaction between water-ion and water-water can lead to an effective ion-ion attraction, overcoming the ionic Coulomb repulsion.
