Summary: This study examined the psychometric properties of the 12-item Stroke-Specific Quality of Life Scale (SSQOL-12) in 184 stroke survivors in Hong Kong. The results showed that SSQOL-12 demonstrated good construct validity, reliability, and measurement invariance over a two-month period. Concurrent, convergent, and divergent validity were also supported. The findings provided empirical support for the validity and reliability of the unidimensional structure of SSQOL-12 as a measure of stroke-specific quality of life among stroke survivors.

Summary: This study quantified the suicide rates among people with serious mental illness (bipolar disorder, major depression, or schizophrenia). The findings showed high suicide rates, especially among individuals with major depression. Male patients were found to have a higher risk of suicide compared to females. Poisoning was the most common method of suicide. The study highlights the need for increased psychological assessment and monitoring, as well as further research on regional and age differences in suicide among this population.

Summary: Personal mental health experiences and interpersonal mental health experiences are associated with stigma-related outcomes, including knowledge, attitudes, and desire for social distance. This study in Hong Kong aims to examine the predictive effect of current personal mental health status and familiarity with mental illness on stigma-related outcomes. The results show that immediate family and friends have better attitudes and lower desire for social distance compared to those who do not know anyone with mental illness, while individuals with personal experience of mental illness have higher prejudicial attitudes. Better current personal mental health predicts lower prejudicial attitudes and mixed outcomes on different realms of mental health knowledge.

Summary: Higher levels of contact are significantly correlated with better knowledge, less prejudice, and less discriminatory behaviors. Knowledge is directly and negatively correlated with prejudicial attitudes but not significantly related to discriminatory behaviors. Lower levels of prejudice are associated with less discriminatory behaviors.

Summary: The study investigated the longitudinal effect of PSWs' recovery attributes on mental health service users in Hong Kong over 9 months. Results showed that levels of hope and self-esteem among PSWs were significantly associated with improvements in hope and empowerment among service users. The study suggests further exploration on the specific pathways of PSWs' recovery attributes on service users' recovery.

Summary: The study reviewed infrastructure assessment studies and international rating systems to identify 64 metrics measuring Infrastructure Sustainability (IS). An empirical survey was conducted to propose an IS metric system with 4 measurement dimensions and integrating the triple bottom line - environmental IS, social IS, and economic IS - along with a fourth sustainability pillar of managerial IS. Three case studies were conducted to validate the IS metric system's formality and comprehensiveness in evaluating sustainable infrastructures in Hong Kong.

Summary: The rSSS-SMI is a specific measure of social support for individuals with serious mental illness, which assesses received support and provides a preliminary tool for developing interventions. It also helps identify the interactions between specific types of support and stressors related to mental illness, improving quality of life, wellness, and recovery. The rSSS-SMI has a similar impact on mental health care policy as population-specific support measures for communities with health conditions.

Summary: The study found that 1-Hz 110% RMT (5 x 60 s trains) R-DLPFC-LF rTMS was not effective for antidepressant non-responding bipolar disorder patients, but may have potential efficacy when investigated with increased dosage or in patients with low anxiety symptoms. Exploratory analysis suggested that baseline anxiety and melancholia, as well as depressive onset timing, moderated the improvement in MADRS scores.

Summary: Image-guided repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) has been shown to be effective in treating depression and cognitive impairment in senior adults with co-occurring conditions. This clinical trial examined the efficacy and sustainability of 10 Hz rTMS treatment in patients with major neurocognitive disorder (NCD) and also tested the predictive value of imaging-informed radiomic features in response to the treatment. The results demonstrated that a 3-week course of 10 Hz rTMS was effective in rapidly improving depressive symptoms and enhancing cognitive function. Furthermore, the cortical thickness and gyrification of the treatment target were identified as significant predictors of clinical remission and cognitive enhancement.

Summary: This study aimed to examine the engagement and theoretical drivers of camouflaging behavior in the general population. The findings revealed a similar dimensional structure of camouflaging behavior in the general population compared to previous studies on autism. Social motivational factors, such as social comparison, public self-consciousness, internalized social stigma, and social anxiety, were identified as significant predictors of camouflaging behavior. These findings highlight the shared social coping experience of camouflaging in the general population, including autistic individuals.

Summary: This study found differences between patients with gambling disorder (GD) with and without self-reported ADHD symptoms in terms of psychopathology, personality, and treatment outcomes. Patients with self-reported ADHD symptoms were more severe in their GD and experienced more severe relapses following treatment. Therefore, more vigilant follow-up and interventions are needed for patients with this comorbidity.
