Summary: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of supervised exercise-therapy and patient education rehabilitation (SUPER) compared to a minimal intervention control for improving pain, function, and quality of life in young adults with ongoing symptoms following anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR). The study is a parallel-group, assessor-blinded, randomized controlled trial including 184 participants. The primary outcome is the change in the Knee injury and Osteoarthritis Outcome Score (KOOS) at 4 months.

Summary: The study found that using either hard or soft knee orthotics does not appear to have a significant impact on the performance of healthy participants in tests. Lack of experience with the devices may explain some influences on feedback mechanisms, but overall there is no disadvantage expected for healthy participants returning to sports.

Summary: A study evaluated rehabilitation compliance in pediatric patients after knee surgery, finding associations with various sociodemographic factors such as single-parent status, distance to rehabilitation clinic, and ethnicity. These results suggest potential predictors of decreased compliance that warrant further prospective investigation.

Summary: This scoping review maps the current literature on the diagnosis and treatment of multiligament knee injuries (MLKIs). The findings reveal a lack of high-level evidence to support definitive management strategies for MLKI, as well as considerable heterogeneity and a need for minimum reporting standards in the current literature.

Summary: With the increasing aging population in China, the incidence of knee osteoarthritis is on the rise. Whole-body vibration training, as a novel neuromuscular training technique, has emerged as a potential treatment for knee osteoarthritis. This review explores the mode of action and influence factors of whole-body vibration training, summarizes its effects on knee osteoarthritis, and discusses possible mechanisms. It also analyzes the clinical effectiveness and limitations of this training method, providing ideas for its future application in treating knee osteoarthritis.

Summary: This study investigates the role of mental toughness (MT) in knee rehabilitation among older adults with arthritis. The results suggest that MT plays a significant role in reducing pain and improving functionality in this population. Rehabilitation psychologists could use MT as a positive psychology-based tool to contribute to the health promotion efforts of older adults with osteoarthritis.

Summary: The combination of physical activities and individual skills in sports creates an entertaining and competitive environment governed by a set of rules. In today's world, sports attract significant attention and are approached differently by various groups. Sports rehabilitation serves as a treatment to mitigate the effects of injuries, and when combined with surgery, it can expedite the recovery process. The primary objective of this study is to utilize a biocompatible technology for synthesizing zinc oxide (ZnO) nanoparticles in sports rehabilitation, ensuring minimal harm to the environment.

Summary: This study aims to investigate the effectiveness of therapeutic ultrasound for carpal tunnel syndrome (CTS) treatment. A three-arm randomised controlled trial will be conducted, with participants assigned to therapeutic ultrasound, night splint, or a combination of both. The primary outcome will be assessed using the Symptom Severity Scale of Boston Carpal Tunnel Questionnaire at 6-week follow-up. Secondary outcomes include functional status, sleep quality, general health, mental status, functional limitations at work, treatment success, recurrence rate, and various parameters. The study has received ethical approval and the results will be disseminated through publication and conference presentations.

Summary: The purpose of this study was to assess the outcome of ACLR with an accelerated rehabilitation protocol and compare it to a conservative rehabilitation protocol. It was found that the accelerated rehabilitation protocol did not result in a higher rate of recurrent instability or revision surgery compared to the conservative rehabilitation protocol.

Summary: DE/EDs can have severe impacts on athlete health and performance, so it is crucial for sports medicine providers to understand the diagnostic criteria and screen for DE/EDs. Team physicians play a vital role in multidisciplinary treatment teams, making complex decisions regarding sport participation clearance. Education programs can effectively reduce DE behaviors or thoughts. The sports medicine community should strive to prevent DE/EDs, reduce stigma around treatment, and promote healthy relationships with nutrition to support athlete well-being and goals.

Summary: Youth sports have undergone significant changes in recent decades, including declining participation, increased early specialization, and disparities resulting from rising costs and the shift towards private and club-based organizations. The athletic population faces unique mental health considerations such as depression, performance anxiety, perfectionism, disordered eating, musculoskeletal injuries, and the psychological effects of concussions. Managing mental health concerns in this population requires improving mental health literacy, reducing stigma, promoting help-seeking behaviors, and implementing effective screening practices.
