Summary: By studying patient-level factors in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), it was found that there were consistent associations between age, sex, smoking status, and autoantibodies and the development of interstitial lung disease (ILD). These findings provide a basis for future research and contribute to a better understanding and management of the risk of ILD development and progression in patients with RA.

Summary: Measurement of autoantibodies like RF and ACPA is crucial in the diagnosis and treatment of RA, but lack of harmonization between different commercial tests poses a challenge. It is recommended that all RF and ACPA tests should have a diagnostic specificity of 98-99%, and the introduction of test result-specific likelihood ratios can provide more precise information for clinical decision-making. Detection of autoantibodies can also be used to predict future arthritis development and prognosis in at-risk patients.

Summary: This study investigated the clinical characteristics of patients with difficult-to-treat RA and the effectiveness of switching to drugs with different modes of action. The results showed that 10.1% of patients were still difficult to treat, and while changing drugs was useful, the proportion of patients achieving remission or low disease activity decreased with each switch.

Summary: This study investigated the knowledge and attitudes about influenza vaccination among patients with rheumatic diseases and found that concerns about safety, efficacy, side effects, fear of the vaccine, and knowledge of cost can diminish vaccine uptake. These factors are related to confidence, complacency, and convenience as components of vaccine hesitancy in this population.

Summary: Seronegative rheumatoid arthritis patients have a milder disease compared to seropositive patients, with later onset age and lower requirement for antirheumatic therapies. On ultrasound evaluation, seropositive patients show more severe joint damage.

Summary: Rheumatoid arthritis is a multifactorial disease influenced by genetic predisposition and environmental factors. Genotyping of RA patients revealed significant associations between certain alleles and genotypes with the development of RA, as well as clinical criteria and biochemical factors. Targeted NGS panel application contributes to expanded genotyping to identify risk groups among RA patients.

Summary: This study identified four distinct clusters of radiographic progression over a 2-year period in patients with rheumatoid arthritis (RA), including stable, relentless progression, improvement, and both ways, confirming the robustness of the clusters using different clustering methods. Regression models found disease duration, baseline C-reactive protein (CRP) and SHS, and treatment status as predictors for cluster assignment.

Summary: This study aimed to refine the interpretation of RF and ACPA across commercial assays. By determining thresholds for antibody levels and assigning test result interval-specific LRs, clinical interpretation can be aligned for all RF and ACPA assays.

Summary: This pilot study investigated the impact of TNFis treatment in pregnant women with rheumatic disease on Tdap vaccine responses and maternal anti-pertussis IgG antibody levels in newborns. The results showed lower levels of maternal anti-pertussis antibodies in newborns during TNFis treatment.

Summary: This study analyzed the role of rheumatoid factor (RF) isotypes in the diagnosis and prognosis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The results showed that testing all RF isotypes with latex test or nephelometry provides the highest sensitivity, while determination of IgA isotype provides the highest specificity and positive likelihood ratio. However, RF isotypes do not provide relevant prognostic information due to limited and conflicting data.

Summary: This study found that the TyG index and rheumatoid factor have a certain correlation and potential predictive value in determining the risk of cardiovascular disease in patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The predictive efficacy is better when the two tests are combined.

Summary: The study identified the clinical characteristics and prognostic factors of patients with concurrent rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and suspected non-tuberculous mycobacterial (NTM) infections. Interstitial lung disease (ILD) and nodular/bronchiectatic (NB) form on chest CT were associated with NTM-pulmonary disease (PD) exacerbation and mortality. Hydroxychloroquine use was found to be a good prognostic factor for NTM-PD. These findings suggest that radiographic features and presence of ILD should be considered when predicting the prognosis of patients with RA and suspected NTM-PD.

Summary: This study investigated the role of microbial dysbiosis and metabolic disorders in different stages of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The findings suggest that microbial dysbiosis and metabolic disorders exhibit distinct patterns and play stage-specific roles in RA. This provides new insights for prognosis and therapy of RA.

Summary: A cohort study was conducted on 88 patients treated with Tocilizumab to investigate the association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in the IL6R gene and adverse events. The results showed that certain SNPs were associated with dyslipidemia and hematological adverse events.
