Summary: This retrospective study analyzed pediatric patients with papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) and found that younger patients had a higher risk of aggressive features and recurrence compared to older patients. The study suggests that prophylactic or therapeutic lymph node dissection should be considered for younger patients with positive preoperative thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH), tumors larger than 2 cm, lateral lymph node metastases, and more than 5 lymph node metastases to reduce the risk of recurrence.

Summary: This study aimed to explore the predictive value of systemic inflammatory markers in the recurrence of papillary thyroid cancer (PTC). The findings showed that lymph node metastasis and higher monocyte-to-lymphocyte ratio (MLR) were independent prognostic factors for tumor recurrence. An MLR threshold of 0.22 effectively predicted recurrence, allowing for the early identification of high-risk patients.

Summary: This study aimed to evaluate the predictive factors of skip metastases in pN1b papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) patients and their impact on recurrence. The results showed that tumor size <= 1 cm was an important predictive factor for skip metastases, while stimulated thyroglobulin (Tg) level was a strong predictor of recurrence.

Summary: This study found that LMR, PLR, MPV, and FIB could predict clinicopathologic features and recurrence in intermediate-to high-risk papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), with lower PLR being a potential risk factor for recurrence.

Summary: The study found that postlobectomy serum thyroglobulin/antithyroglobulin values can be used to predict recurrence in papillary thyroid carcinoma, while also determining optimal cutoff values for first and last thyroglobulin measurements. Patients with elevated thyroglobulin levels have an increased risk of recurrence, and these thresholds can help identify high-risk patients during follow-up.

Summary: The study showed that the tall cell variant of papillary thyroid carcinoma has increased expression of cancer stem cell markers compared to classic papillary thyroid carcinoma. A gene signature similar to the tall cell variant identified a subtype of classic papillary thyroid carcinoma with worse recurrence-free survival.

Summary: The study found that only 11.95% of PTC patients had occult Bil-PTC, with vascularity and USLNM identified as risk factors for BilPTC. Therefore, total thyroidectomy should be cautiously performed in patients with preoperative diagnosis of PTC with isolated focus.

Summary: Multifocality is an independent predictor of recurrence in PTC patients, closely associated with high-risk features. Patients with multifocal PTC may require more judicious treatment and follow-up.

Summary: This study investigated whether ultrasound imaging features can serve as prognostic markers for predicting recurrence in patients with N1b papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC), and found that preoperative ultrasound features, including lymph node size and hyperechogenicity, may be valuable in predicting recurrence.

Summary: Clinical studies have shown that thermal ablation treatment has certain efficacy and safety for thyroid cancer. However, further research is needed to verify the effectiveness and long-term outcomes of this treatment method due to the slow growth of thyroid cancer.

Summary: This study investigated the correlation between genotype and phenotype in Medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC) and found that tumors with different genetic mutations display distinct histopathological features, clinical characteristics, and prognosis. The results support the existence of a genotype-phenotype correlation in MTC, suggesting potential implications for personalized treatment strategies.

Summary: This study examines the public health problems of undernutrition, anemia, and intestinal parasitic infections in pre-school children in Angola. The results suggest that a test-and-treat approach for intestinal parasites has potential benefits for wasting, but there was no clear difference in the effects on stunting. Time and age at baseline also showed favorable effects on stunting and a decrease in anemia and diarrhea over time. Longitudinal studies are crucial for understanding the direct and indirect effects of interventions and exploring the temporal structure of nutrition and health outcomes in children.

This study found that ST growth in PTC was associated with larger tumor size and increased frequency of vascular invasion, but had no significant impact on patient prognosis in the absence of vascular invasion.
