Summary: This study presented the initial experience of using a new dissection-specific hybrid stent graft with a soft distal end in the frozen elephant trunk technique for patients with non-acute DeBakey type I aortic dissection. The results indicated that this approach can effectively reduce the incidence of distal complications compared to non-soft distal stent grafts, with no significant differences among the groups and similar follow-up outcomes. Long-term observations are needed to fully understand the potential benefits and drawbacks of the new prosthesis.

Summary: The study evaluated the extent of stent-graft elastic recoil in acute and chronic aortic dissection patients after the frozen elephant trunk procedure, as well as the impact of stent-graft movement on distal stent graft-induced new entry. Results showed that stent-graft position changed over time in different directions, with greater elastic recoil observed in acute cases compared to chronic cases. The occurrence of distal stent graft-induced new entry was found to be associated with aortic area size, enlargement, and continuous stent graft unfolding rather than elastic recoil.

Summary: This study aimed to report the clinical outcomes and aortic remodeling after the implantation of the Fabulous thoracic stent system. The results showed favorable clinical benefits of the Fabulous system, with low short-term mortality and a low incidence of reintervention. Patients also exhibited remodeling in both the descending aorta and distal aorta, with varying volumetric changes in different segments.

Summary: Patients with DeBakey type III aortic dissection with partial thrombosis of false lumen have a higher mortality rate, while those with full patent false lumen tend to exhibit partial thrombosis after thoracic endovascular aortic repair. Preoperative high flow in the false lumen has an unfavorable effect on thoracic aortic diameter in one week post-TEVAR, potentially increasing the risk of aortic rupture.

Summary: The STABILISE technique showed satisfactory outcomes in treating complicated chronic aortic dissection by stabilizing the diameter of the dissected aorta, achieving complete false lumen thrombosis, and preventing fatal complications. With no in-hospital deaths or major complications reported during follow-up, the technique proved to be safe and effective in aortic remodeling for these patients.

Summary: Thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) is a standard treatment for complicated type B aortic dissection. Short stent-graft (SG) length may increase the risk of distal stent-graft-induced new entry (SINE) post-TEVAR. Virtual SG deployment simulations can help predict and reduce stress in the treated aorta, potentially aiding in selecting the most appropriate SG length for individual patients.

Summary: This study aimed to determine the optimal revascularization approach with the lowest morbidity and mortality in patients with secondary aortoenteric fistula (SAEF). The results showed that there was no significant difference in survival between extra-anatomic bypass (EAB) and in situ bypass (ISB), but EAB patients were more likely to require dialysis postoperatively and less likely to experience aorta-related hemorrhage.

Summary: The study investigated the anatomical distribution pattern of epidural intraspinal arteries, revealing a craniocaudal continuity, a high number of transverse anastomoses, and a low number of thoracic and lumbar anterior radiculomedullary arteries with significant variation in distribution. These findings are likely to have an impact on perfusion during treatment of thoraco-abdominal aortic diseases.

Summary: TEVAR surgery requires a sufficient landing zone for safe anchoring of the stent-graft and prevention of endoleaks, while certain areas may be limited by major aortic side-branches. Accurate deployment of the stent-graft and measures to prevent side-branch occlusion are crucial for successful outcomes.
